Thanks, but as I’ve said in the article it’s not doom and gloom. There are many great things going on with EOS and a lot to be excited/optimistic about. I just think it’s worth considering tweaks if we think we can make EOS even better

I agree. It’s not all doom and gloom. We can be very happy that EOS is not just the fastest, most robust block chain in existence, it is also the most flexible and adaptable to change. And that’s at both the technical (code) level and the governance level. I just hope the issues you mention in your article can be reigned in with minimal disturbance.

On Dan's Universal Resource Inheritance article: So, Dan's talking about physical things that have an affect on resources. I agree. If everyone owns an equal amount of the universe, then surely those with resources would owe everyone else something in exchange for them using their property. I would like to add to the notion of individual rights & identity and assert that an “individual” or an “identity” should not be considered one and the same throught a human being’s life until it dies. I assert that a human being throughout its lifetime consists of multiple identities each occupying a tiny sliver of time as consciousness. Philosophically, we know that there is no way to prove our identity remains the same throughout our percieved life, even though we do percieve it that way. How do you know that “you” (as in your identity/consciousness) didn’t just now enter your body and all of your prior memory (if you had any) was wiped and replaced with your current memories? You don’t know. Every microsecond or less of consciousness should be treated as a new identity, and therefore be given all of the privileges indiviudals have rights to. In this way, a UBI should be given in as short an increments as possible/practical. I also assert that just as it is moral to take from past generations, but immoral to take from future generations by offloading our present debt on them, it is immoral to create debt for your future identities. This eliminates the problem of someone theoretically taking out millions in debt and then being an indentured servant for the rest of their life, if there are no bankruptcy laws. All individual debt is immoral, no matter how short. Imagine if you entered a body/mind where the prior occupant felt they could take from you for their own short-term gain. That would be slavery, and slavery is immoral. You can’t violate the rights of future “you”s. Debt for business is needed, but that is not conceptually the same as individual debt. Companies are not people. No one should be forced by violence to work for a company because of a debt. The debt should only belong to the company. Back on topic: The only subjective aspect to Dan’s article here is that we have to assume everyone is a rational actor. As Dan put it, as if you were being represented by a competent lawyer who negotiated the contract for you. “Competency” and “rationality” is subjective, and ultimately based on mob rule. For instance, there may be someone who acts irrational to us, and might negotiate himself to be a slave laborer, and that would be completely rational to him. Still, acting in our own self-interest (and in the interest of other like-minded actors in the super-majority), we would “override” their say on the matter. It’s impossible to be a 100% true voluntarist, as another person’s mere existence and therefore “rights” may threaten our own existence and therefore “rights”. Deontological libertarians face contradictions as soon as they assert “rights”, and they have no answer for these logical contradictions. “Rights” are fundamentally subjective, whether they want to intellectually admit it or not. This is why I am not a deontological libertarian, as I recognize the subjective nature of human consciousness and therefore ethics. I am a libertarian (minarchist) based on practicality and ultimately self-interest, much like Milton Freidman. I believe a decentralized libertarian structure for society will be the best for most people, and therefore it will be the best for me. Notice the ordering in that last sentence. If a societal structure we expect to be applied universally does not meet the needs of most people, I cannot support such a structure, as it will ultimately threaten my welfare in the end, through revolt. Also, effort would be wasted on enacting a structure we know cannot last in the eyes of the majority. (I might add, I am not necessarily talking about the current views of the majority, but rather the views a majority can ultimately be convinced to believe. For instance, I support libertarian societal structures even thou

The project is called The EOS Wall and is a comeback from the million dollar homepage built by Alex Tew back in 2005. The idea is a proof of concept of digital property applied to blockchain where any user that has an EOSIO account can own a slot, update it or sell it when he gets bored. If you draw on someone else's then that pixel becomes more expensive for the next person to draw on but if they draw on yours they you get part of the profit so everyone wants to popular ones as the best result is to have someone draw on your pixel

It should really give you both, not just a qr code, I can't imagine they don't show eos account. For what it's worth Scatter Desktop supports scanning QR codes when sending then you can see the account name afterwards.

You could just put your eth pub key in eosauthority.com and it will spit out your eos account name. Just type that account name in an eos explorer like bloks.io it will give you all the details on your mainnet eos account. Other than that just dyor on eos wallets. Greymass is one thats highly recommended.. But just look around and see what you like.

Great article, sums up the problem of "1 EOS = 1 Vote" when we have such whale manipulation. The only other fix, other than adding a "1 entity" component like you said, would be a way to prevent vote buying and trading. Any ideas how we could effectively do this?

I think this is a little unfair and verging on being a subtle hit-piece. It paints EOS in a poor light as it has taken certain truths and put the worst possible spin on all of them. The timing of the article is also one day before Blockchain Live, an event where B1 wil take center stage. Strong Block looks interesting, though. I hope an article is not far away highlighting the incredible dApps, the tech, the energy in the community etc.. - all the positive things happening within EOS.

you need an immutable ledger if you are trying to create a virtual world of value. Sure you can just make the same game on a centralized server. But if you want to add an incentive layer it needs to be on a blockchain so it can't be corrupted or compromised. The future of gaming is incentivized gaming, once daily gamers find out they can make actual money or earn something of value by playing their games, the sky is the limit.

When talking about identity, one has to mention Theseus' Ship. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ship_of_Theseus If we use software in the thought experiment instead of a ship, if 1 line of code is added to software, is it the same software as a whole, or is it a different software? Philosophically I believe it would be different, but intuitively, we view them as the same. This reminds me of the BTC vs. BCH debate. Each project has some qualities of the original software, but neither project is the original software. Either one could hold the BTC "identity", but BTC is BTC only because of societal structures. It's the same for human identity. I think it's useful to think of a human being as a machine that is being controlled by self-amending software. Our software is constantly self-amending and each new line of code should be considered a new identity. As the machine is exposed to stimuli, it learns, and the new identity is similar to the last, but with changes affected by this stimuli. As a society, we need the machine (other human beings) to learn "good" behavior and "bad" behavior. Enter the concept of responsibility and liability. We can agree that it is unethical for present you to steal from future you, and it would be unethical for society to allow present you to do that. In the same way, it is wrong for present you to violate property rights at any time. Individuals are liable for things, because society has deemed there's a defect in the individual's software. Even though identity should be thought of as different from moment to moment, the software is only slightly different from the previous one, and the changes made are highly reliant on the stimuli it receives from society. Therefore, it's logical to conclude that the software defect that caused the bad behavior in the previous identity, is still present in the current one, and an effort should be made to correct it. (From a libertarian point of view, non-violently.) We can also look to companies to illustrate further. The same as for software and human beings, a company as an identity is constantly changing, but it's outward, intuitive appearance looks the same. We would still hold companies liable even if the entire staff were replaced with new ones (practicality not withstanding), because it's a learning example for the rest of society (and the new staff) on how to act. An effort to change the software, or to prevent the software from changing, to better align with societal expectations. You could say the liability really falls on the outward-looking appearance or what we intuitively think of as identity (the company in this case), rather than *actual* identity (the confluence of humans working within the company in this case). I think it's worth noting that even though I'm boiling this down to empiricism, I'm not claiming determinism and therefore a lack of free will. As of now, we can't prove free will or the lack of it, and I believe that philosophical territory is a dead end.

Staked resources yes. Ram, no. You won't get your ram back if you designate another account. Just CPU and NET can be returned to you if you undelegate

Why does augmented reality need to be on a blockchain? You don't need to trust anyone, and there's no middleman to remove.

Hey Mike. We have a whole section on that in our white paper, as well as more briefly in our faq which you can check out on our website: www.infiniverse.net. But adding onto what Elim already said: the blockchain stores the persistent state of the digital world. Therefore users aren't concerned that all the time and effort spent building land and assets in Infiniverse will go to waste. The world can continue to live on for as long as users want it to, rather than for as long as some company decides they want to run the servers (which has happened to many online games before that they shut down despite still having millions of users)
