Yes it was. Updated my exodus to the latest version and behold it unstaked my eos. They should ask permission. Just because they hold my private keys, doesn't give them the right to manipulate my eos account.

a money needs to have velocity, in the begining btc was being thought of as digitial cash, when people realized it couldnt be used to transact like cash (unstable price, too slow, high fees) they then think of it as a "store of value", unfortunately you cant call something a store of value if you can clone fork it 1000 times over! btc value is attributed to the network effect, as soon as these people jump to another coin it will go to zero, and a successor coin will have its bull! that being EOS!

100% correct. It's amazing it seems 99% of people fail to grasp this simple fact. And being that most people who earn money do so my exchanging their time for money. They say time is money, not quote. Debt is money, and it eats time. This is the basic cause of the high productivity over the past 100 or more years IMO Problem is, the time was "spent" regardless of if it was filling a real need or not. Hence the massive waste like in no otehr time in history. Block chain can help trnasition ourselves from debt based, fractionally reserved money creation, to a deflationary system where no money is created without value. Imagine that, a value based money system rather than a debt based one. This is likely the best chance we have in several hundred years at least to take some ground back for the common people. Bitcoin is not capable of doing this alone. We need a whole ecosystem. EOSIO looks like the best shot we have at taking significant ground in this tug of war. Bring it on!

good morning everyone, I have been watching EOS for a while now, and I have been around to live the genesis week in June with the teams having nightly regular week calls and informing all with youtube/reddit posts about the go/no go for the EOS launch. EOS Canada was one of the leading teams back then, and I am telling you, without them EOS launch couldnt have happened as it did. I am very dissapointed to see EOS Canada out of top 21. And even more dissapointed to see BPs like EOSflytomars in the top 21, which back then didnt even bother to have a functional website!!!

I think the URI model is interesting and could be part of the solution. The rest of the solution is quite simple. Fully liquid deflationary assets used as money. We're starting to see it already. When we begin to be able to set our wallets to recieve the token of our choice, while the person we're trading with can spend the token of their choice..., and the swap is done seemlessly in the middle..., we'll be on track to succeed.

No, some ICO's are legit, some are scams. Scame as before. If you want to take part in ICO's DYOR If not, as an eos holder, you'll get plenty of airdrops. Airdrops provide a lot but for projects who need a lot of capital now, they may prefer ICO.

yep, something that clearly needs to improve Luckily we're only using 20% of current CPU capacity (it's throttled and is being increased slowly to ensure stability). That's my understanding anyway... Also we're going from single threaded to multi threaded soon... CPU does need to be fixed, but there is a clear pathway to do so

Well, currently the CPU bottleneck is making things slow, and EOS isn't even a factor of 10 faster than ETH based on their tests. But we need to see their methodology before we can even consider their data accurate, especially considering the source of funds for this article

I take it all the fake Chinese BP's running EOS are not optimizing enough to keep the network going? I've noticed a huge decline in EOS performance after Huobi and friends took over the majority of active producers. Can't even send transactions. Funny thing is my CPU usage grew from 30% to 100% without touching it in 2 days. Essientally non-working.

I'd say because gambling sites are already forced underground due to being a gray area legally, they're already set-up to exit scam. Also what hadrian said is true, the allure of "betting on the house" by participating in an ICO that pays you out on house profits is too good to be true and attracts a lot of quick cash

A wallet is just a tool used to interact with your EOS account. The tools I recommended above (scatter and eostoolkit.io) are my preference. Scatter has had a security audit and is actively being upgraded and developed by very competent and highly skilled EOS community members. Yes it's trusted.

They started out staked for everyone. So if you haven't done anything, it's perfectly normal to be staked.

yes and no. support is very basic, you can only do transfers and voting and staking. but in 2 days a new eos ledger app is being released that is supposed to fix all current issues and allow any smart contract transaction not just those very limited features

many target the 21 block producers but when REX comes online there will be a different atmosphere within the EOS ecosystem because now people are going to get rewarded so its in the best interest on how eos will be working for the stake holders
