An early investor who had huge stake sold.. it so they say. They transferred a huge amount to said person and said person dumped. But said persons share was mixed in with the dev acct... So it's an insider. Regardless if it's true or not that it is an individual, it doesn't bode well when one of the major investors, whose money is the same as the dev teams, dumps. They can say it's rumours or whatever but if they actually aren't exit scamming and lying, I'm sure that person knows something we don't. What is weird is it's not like almost all other projects where the initial team locks the tokens for a period of time. Clearly not locked.

B1 did not want to believe that whales would whale - the belief in the benevolent whale is right up there with the Easter Bunny. B1 released an infant blockchain into the world with no means to protect itself from the greedy fucks that have most of the wealth/tokens/stake. Humans will always choose personal gain over community good, every time, even if their actions end up destroying the community from which they are benefitting. Now we have a rapidly entrenching cartel, lead by the self-voting exchanges, that is going to extract as much value as possible before moving on to the next chain. Whales are by nature parasitic - they must take more than they give, and the largest whales are the best at taking the most while giving the least. These are not people you want running your blockchain.

I think if we put our mind to it we'll find there are simple solutions. I'm a bit disappointed with B1 in that they did not properly look at game theory. It's quite obvious the outcome with the current setup. I would personally look at a methodology to politically isolate BP's so that there is no conflict of interest. Can't be that difficult to do.

Voter engagement and education is the first and most important step. If apathy cannot be solved decentralization fails. Incentivizing participation in governance via REX is probably one of the most important social experiments in human history. If successful it will open the doors to a new era of governance via direct democracy. We need to watch how Telos plays out, as they have some novel ideas on voting, and see if REX can mobilize voting. And we want people voting for as many BPs as possible, not fewer. Ideally every token holder would be voting for at least 30 bps

Would be nice if there could be a dynamic pay function for BPs with something like a CPI that calcs the average annual cost of operating a BP in whatever country the BP declares. It gets messy cause you need oracles/feeds etc. but the idea is to minimize profit and minimize corruption - keep BP pay just ahead of costs so they can work hard and make a good living but greedy assholes will seek life elsewhere. Perhaps just an annual referendum that sets BP pay for the year. BPs have to present a budget to the community for approval

Saying fork is much easier than actually doing it. For it to work the new chain would need to have the support of some very good BPs who are willing to put the effort into bringing it up whilst turning their back on the EOS mainnet with the hope that the new fork will be trusted to be worth something in the future.

It would involve the removal of irresponsible token holders and their supporters by removing their stakes on the new chain + applied changes to the system contract to ensure BPs fully comply on the new chain. However I would rather see Starteos unreg their 2nd BP and the community apply social pressure on whale supported BPs to do the right thing for the good of the network as a whole. Maybe that’s too much to ask but I’ll hold out hope that it’s not as forking is not my preferred solution.

kyc is like paying with credit card: you have to give someone your most private data to use the service and hope they dont do anything malicious with it. private key based authentication is so much better as you dont give the other party anything private from you.

that part is really bad user interface from binance i think. maybe they do it because a lot of people send from exchange to another exchange and then will need to enter a memo to ensure target exchange knows for which user the incoming transfer is.

The ones with strong communities and a commitment to development will win in the long term. Betdice and Poker are my two picks and they are beginning a partnership in these early days. That's a great choice. I can see them running a BP node to take as more active role in the governance model, and probably turning it all into a DAC that runs iteself in the best interests of the community.. I think BIG dapps would make great producers, but only time will tell.
