It certainly makes the most sense to me and you that what you are describing would be the case. But I'm far from convinced that that is actually what's going on in Dan's head. Especially given his known tendences to apparently give up on projects rather quickly and move on to the "next big thing". And quite frankly, if he were a responsible adult and a responsible EOS community manager, he would not come in here, drop a dozen bombs in the chat and disappear, leaving us to speculate and waste our own valuable time in order to figure out what's going on. Doing that shows a remarkable lack of empathy for what people in this community are living through right now -- and what we have been living through ever since the botched EOS launch -- and really only serves to drain the little trust that is left.

how does it make sense? he speaks of 10m tps, no staking, no dpos, no BPs, no resource issues - no everything what eos is... so how does it make sense to anyone that he’s talking about sth to be built on top of eos?

This is what happens when u lose interest in a project... you start thinking about the next big thing... But Dan needs to push through with EOS and not get distracted -- there are many urgent issues going on with EOS, including lack of 1P wallet, BPs dropping, CPU issues, etc. The state of EOS at this point is a mess, quite frankly. And when things are messy, it's much more fun to dream up new things and move on. But persistence and execution is what pays off, not jumping from one project to the next. Dan has jumped ship in the past, more than once, and the EOS community has always been fearful that he will do it again. Perhaps Dan's messages above were the warning sign that we all hoped we would never see. A response from Dan would be highly welcome. The last thing we need is some new pie in the sky project that diverts resources and attention away from EOS.

i agree. i’m glad dan is a dreamer but ibc/b1 wallet/scalability/speed optimization needs to happen with eos. it looks like a brand new project is being discussed and eosio doesn’t appear to be horizontally scalable yet.

That's a factually incorrect statement. Go back to this channel a year ago or more (or less) and look. My opinion of EOS has changed dramatically since launch (to the negative), particularly in the last month alone. I think it's pretty sad when honest and legitimate criticism is dismissed as fudding. But I get it. It's like, you own a stock, and some sell sider comes out and writes a negative research piece on your stock, and the value of the stock goes down. So I get why you resist the criticism of EOS and why you are doing your best to dismiss it and discredit the source. It's because criticism is not aligned with your presumably long position in EOS.

a lot of airdrops (free token distributions to eos holders) require some participation and you can use the eostoolkit.io to do some** airgrabs** (a different type of airdrop that is cheaper for devs and cost a tiny amount of ram to grab for users) and my advise is do not invest in EOS, you USE it not HODL it. Because it's actually useable tech. ❤️

i see i can import via ledger

for ledger the "registration fallback" method you need to do (as you didnt actively register yourself) is a bit more complicated because you need the eth private key to generate the eos private key for your account that is waiting on the mainnet. so first check the ledger support page on how to get your eth private key (e.g. from myetherwallet.com i think you will be able to get it after entering your 24 seed words there). then paste the eth private key in e.g. scatter and it will be able to generate the associated eos private key for you.

nothing you have to worry about for newdex. they dont use smart contract to store the cancellation of the order so they use an advanced scatter feature to just let you sign an arbitrary messag to them to prove you are the owner and then they cancel for you. the warning is for when sites might try to make you sign something potentially malicious or something you cant see (e.g. hidden in some hex code they make you sign, e.g. ef12ab125793...)

Multiple reasons but one is say most companies need to charge you a premium to use their product or service, or sell your data. Eg. Booking.com charges 10-20% premium but if a competitor issues a token they can charge 0% commission but make you pay in their token, then overly simplistic but as long as demand for token is increasing, it’s value will rise over time, so the founders & investors make money and customer gets a better deal as it’s 10-20% cheaper than fiat based models
