You can get as angry as you want about it, but there are projects with better scalability by far

Like I was saying raw TPS is not the only answer, Dan said himself that there is a difference in the quality and depth of each transaction that EOS handles. I cant speak for everyone, but I am not here for TPS alone I am hear because Block One had the most successful ICO to date, 1 billion dollar dapp development fund, mainstream private investment from Peter Theil, Mike Novogratz. And in 4 short months is doing more volume on a couple dapps than most projects put together. For me that is a recipe for real adoption.

1% of your vote "strength" get's removed "decayed" each week. After 52 weeks (1 year) your vote strength is cut in half. To avoid this decay in vote strength, voters are forced to revote from time to time to show active participation, and enjoy full strength voting. This was put in place for several reasons. It would suck to have a dead guy still voting for a BP that didn't exist.

thats like sending btc tonan eth address. your eos are pretty much kaput. unless im missing something abt what ecaf can and cant do. this is why crypto is still very very far from adoption. just imagine grandma’s pension that she got in eos which in turn she sends to her grandkid’s eth address. check check and check before sending out funds. exchange can determine if its an eos or eth or btc address. they should never allow that.

That's my question. They say it over and over again. I figure it's just because EOS daily txns are 10x ETH right now, but giving them the benefit of the doubt I wondered if there was some difference in what counts as a 'transaction' on EOS, and perhaps that was the source of the comments.

Even if the transactions have a lot of value they can't be counted because it could just be transfers from one pocket to another. In other words, people could just be sending EOS to themselves for 0 fees without incurring a loss. Similar to the exchanges that have no trading fees and pump up their own volume with wash trading and fake trades

It depends what assertion is being made by the person using the transaction volume figures. When a system is capable of such high transaction volumes with such little cost, it goes without saying that transactions will be made more readily as a result of the lower barrier. So people will do more transactions for purposes of less value/use. Even if people are trying to 'big up' eos by making transactions solely to increase transaction volume, it shows that eos is quite good at handling that volume. It might be argued that the volume isn't indicative of people needing to use the platform for 'high quality' transactions. I'd say there's plenty of real world use by real people. A lot of it being gambling. And eos is extremely young, without the current existence of things which we know are coming....

When you say 'actual transactions' do you mean, rather, transactions of a certain sort? Surely it's trivial to see how many actual transactions are happening.

Prediction time. 2019 will be the year of the great BTC decoupling. Currently BTC is the main trading pair for most crypto tokens. This results in the entire market largely following the price action of BTC It also means a tonne of trading volumes goes into BTC when the buyer has no want or need to own btc, aside from having to buy it to move to another coin. Coinbase has a stable coin now and there are more coming. I believe these stable coins will be the main trading pairs for the next wave of speculation. This will result in a decoupling of token prices from the btc price action. Let's see if it comes to fruition.

If Stellar can give away $250m by giving away $25 to all `blockchain.info` users, then `Block.one` should also give away free EOS accounts to all their users, too. $7 is too expensive for people to get into EOS. Most games and apps are free for a good reason, even a $2 price tag on an app is too much. Read Szabo's post on mental transaction costs

I think there is a need for decentralisation. Fundamentally there is always a need for centralisation. Too much decentralisation leads to chaos and a lack of leadership.
