I don't have a problem with your choice, I use those by myself, but if you tell people that open source software is safer without telling them that only if they compile it by themselves, that is just sugarcoating, there is no difference in security if you use a closed sourced meet one or a precompiled scatter or greymass wallet.

I tell them my opinion, ppl have a responsibility to do research themselves in this space.

Right, well you just need to choose an eos wallet and import your eos private key which you generated back when you registered. That'll give you access to your eos account. All but ten of your eos will be staked, but you can unstaked them if you wish (it takes three days).

memos are only needed for transfering to exchanges, so they know who to distribute the eos to. When transferring to your own private account, it is not necessary. Just type in something random if it's absolutely required.

Try using cpuemergency.com get a bit more staked to your account for free. Or you can wait for your cpu usage to cool down a bit. Or you can stake more eos to CPU so you can do more transactions yourself. Remember, you can't unstake everything. You have to leave some staked.

You can extract your private keys from the ledger. Let me just ask something, before you derive your ethereum private key. Was your ethereum account eligible for the fallback process? Because if it wasn't, you don't need to get your ethereum private key. In this case you can sign a transaction with your ledger and use the eosio.claim contract.

You can only use it though if you don't have a genesis account, i.e. if your ethereum account wasn't registered by the fallback script. What does it say when you put your ethereum address in at eosauthority.com ?

Yeah, airGRAB tokens cost a small amount of ram. I believe it's around 250 bytes? Or close to that. I'd go ahead and grab a couple kb's if you can spare it. Just to hold in reserve for when you need it.

Thk's @HoneyBooBoosMom. I have a Ledger Nano S, I don't know how "store" the eos inside it and in the mean time be able to transfers some of theese eos (in exchange for example). I downloaded and installed the eos app from Ledger Live, I downloaded fairy wallet and I created new account through eos-account-creator with the keys generate by my Ledger. But when i open this new account, I don't see any of my eos (from eosio account). How I can transfers the eos on the fairy wallet ?

Where did you get that info? Transactions are irreversible. Bp can freeze account but noone can reverse transactions. Otherwise it is imutable and it is not block chain

Like eth and btc, eosio allows for developers to build wlets on top of the command line code. There is no central foundation etc running eos, it's a community launched and community run chain. I use scatter desktop mainly and often in conjunction with genereos toolkit, blocks.io and many others. So easy too!

as i lost my backup for scatter is there any way i can still use it ever again?

Hell yeah, if you have your private keys, you can delete uninstall and reinstall anytime you want. It's like a keyring vault. It just keeps your keys handy and ready for use, without having to enter them more than once. You can use scatter again and again. The back up is for when you update to a newer version or move the current setup to another system.

depends on the dapp. if their snapshot is not genesis, then ur coins must be on an eos wallet on the day of the snapshot and just wait until they airdrop.

Why is Scatter so slow now?

Seems to depend what you're using I had issues with claiming SEED in the toolkit, but everything else in the toolkit was fine. Turns out SEED hit their resource limit, so wasn't working. Scatter wasn't sending toolkit back error message so seems to stall out. Possible this is the reason for other issues too??

Just throwing this newb question into the chat for anyone who is down to answer: If I create a new account with a new name(say, within EOSlynx desktop), then transfer all my EOS and airdrops over to that new account/wallet....am I good? Is my original account from the snapshot/launch permanently tied to anything important? or can I move on from it once I have everything transferred.. Also, airdrops just go where the EOS is right? So if I completed said transfer to a new account, future airdrops will be received in my new account because that account has EOS, correct? Thanks in advance!

damn, make sure you have the latest version of DESKTOP scatter, and reconnect scatter, refresh the page. That always helps when i get txns hanging. Growing pains bro.. One more thing, if you remove the permission and reconnect that sometimes works too. This hanging txn is a rare problem, so don't worry about it. lol bitcoin

always keep your keys to original accounts especially genesis accounts if you're not selling them. The reason is forks, side chains, sister chains, and airdrops might use that snapshot.
