There are two models of running a dapp. One where users bring their own ram, and another where developers provide the ram for free. Small dev shops will be able to experiment with apps by asking users to hold a very small amount of ram

You can play games using your memory pack, but if you want to play lots of them you might have to buy another pack. OR when games get big and well funded, they save all your stuff for you and you don’t have to use your memory pack anymore

Step 3 — Free Accounts with Block.one’s iOS Wallet Block.one is building a free iOS hardware wallet using Apple’s Secure Enclave. Suggestion: For EOS monitor, we should not only show live transactions, but a unique count of each transaction message and category of transactions, i.e. smart contracts vs. transfer of RAM/EOS and maybe ability to county by username and username/message. It could cause harm, but currently it's not and is probably helping us more than anything else to test the max TPS/throughput of EOS; currently averaging just 1 or 2 per second with only occasional spikes, presumably during airdrops and high RAM volume trading.

Agreed; the inherit complexity is what's needed when self-empowering yourself to be your own bank and manage your own finances/life, although it will get simpler over time. For the moment is why coinbase is so popular; it's the easiest way to first get into crypto and to get one's foot in the door. EOS goes beyond that of course with dapps and smart contracts, but we can certainly adopt elements of such platforms.

So as a Radiologist, the primary issue we face is creating storage space for our medical imaging. MRI, CT scans, Mammo’s, and other studies are on the order of several MEgabytes per study. So imagine if you can solve this storage problem?! The demand for medical imaging multiplied over the last several years. If you ever had to visit ER, you would notice that if you present with belly pain, you will almost certainly get a CT scan. I wonder if any of the admins here would be willing to work on a project like that.

It's not failed... But it's not what everyone was really expecting... I think most are disappointed that it's a whale driven blockchain like everything else. There are many questionable block producers who are not giving any value back to the community but filling their boots. So I think there will be many forms to correct this as I can't see it happening on EOS. Either way I'm not fussed though but I understand the issues.

Are you aware that accounts are rate limited if the network is at capacity, according to how much they have staked? So there's a minimum amount of resources which you're always guaranteed use of, proportional to your stake. And accounts cannot spam to such an extent that it stops other users having access.

NP. It looks like Everipedia is using an IPFS solution, but not directly tied to EOS even though they're using the EOS blockchain for everything else now since their airdrop. You may want to discuss with them in their Telegram group to learn more. I believe EDNA will also be using some sort of IPFS to store DNA/genome info. I'm sure HIPAA compliance is a major concern as well, but storing that information at rest using 256 bit encryption and TLS 1.2 I'm thinking should suffice; check with the EDNA folks on that since I think they also might be using some sort of IPFS solution as well.

easiest way to check your airdrop is to check on eos block explorer ( for example eospark) put in your account nr and in the token section check your airdropped balances...than go to your wallet and add custom token with the info you saw on eoapark ( server + token name)

That depends on the exchange and if they are participating in whatever airdrop. But if they aren’t, then that also depends if the group conducting the airdrop is sending to exchanges. Again, not a simple answer to your question. However, most airdrops are based off of the genesis snapshot and are being distributed to your EOS account.

They didn't add EOS to your account. That's just the way that the blockchain displays the data. It's basically them putting the amount of EOS erc20 tokens you had into your EOS account - Everyone started with 10 left unstaked and the rest staked. That 10 you are looking for is not an extra 10. It is 10 that you already owned.

They’re different beasts. You can’t expect EOS to bill you for RAM like AWS because AWS doesn’t give you ownership of the platform. EOS RAM costs may seem “high” but you can sell your RAM if your app doesn’t work out and you shut it down. You lose 100% of the fees you pay to AWS.

I agree mass adoption is good. But maybe the initial plan is for apps to migrate to it after using cheaper start up methods like AWS, dunno. I just know that the ownership model is super unique. If I was starting a new business I would love knowing that I could get some of my running costs back if the app didn’t work it.
