Scatter nor greymass "hold" your tokens, they are portals for you to access and interact with the chain. All you need to do is hold them in your own account (one that you have the private key for)

There is a theory of why some exchanges aren't opening up eos withdraws. They created a lot of fake accounting book eos to let people trade and are afraid that if they open up withdrawls, then people will withdraw all their eos to stake in private wallets or buy ram.

Personally, i use eossimple developed. By eos rio. Once you set up the wallet, go to the voting tab. It is self explanatory from there.

The RAM price is controlled by trade bots, the accounts: zhang1234234 snowbean1212 111111111133 555555552222 huangyuxiang blockchaines aaronzhuolin dhj111111111 eeeoooooosss btcbccetheos longyaneos11 and so on. They are drawing the line and trading for control the price down but not for profit. It said that these bots are from Chinese Exchangers. Because these Exchangers oversold EOS, so they can not cover the hole if most users withdraw EOS. The trading bots lead the price trend and made the price diving from 0.3 to 0.18 just in mins.

pro tip, when creating new accounts stake 0.01 and use 4000 bytes to create new account. Much cheaper than default setting of 1KB ram and 0.1 staked for each.

huh? no. you vote only once. the vote stays there. until you either unstake or vote for something else. and every week you lose around 1% of voting power so you're incentivized to eventually vote again when you have more information.

Anything you do on the network is a (trans)action. In order to send transactions you need staked tokens enough to cover bandwidth for CPU (time the machine spends executing the code) and Net (sending the data between machines).

I don't think that's how that will work. Blackmoon has everything set up on Ethereum. It's probably a great idea to have EOS and eth. Plus waves I'd say.

Keep in mind that your tokens are never really "stored" in a wallet. They don't live there. The public key is like a pass to teleport to your tokens that live in random spot in the desert in a secure but transparent box. Anyone with the public key can go there, but only the private key can open the box and do something with the contents. You can have many of these passes/keys via many wallets. So some of the wallet softwares or "key stores" you can use to access your EOS account are: Eosvoter by greymass is a good beginner wallet: https://github.com/greymass/eos-voter Alternative Scatter is very versatile: get-scatter.com SimplEOS the third bigger one that came out I think.

That being said you don't need a wallet (or your private key) to just look at the tokens. If you have the EOS public key already you can search for it on eosflare.io for example and see your account name and token balance.

some criticism is okay but its typically blown crazily out of proportion in a pure black and white mindset. but yea the system is already quite solid, just a few more tweaks and feature completion, e.g. eos storage or worker proposal voting and just tweaking the numbers and tightening the screws.

nothing happens. vote decay means the vote will mean less every week when you vote. so that you revote every so often. you're not forced to vote. but i encourage you to eventually when you feel informed enough.

Hmm.. I am still confusing. What I understand is that I need to make a transaction or vote in three years or stake EOS coins to avoid the acount being frozne. If so, I have staked most of my EOS already (as it seems to be a default setting), I would not have to do anything to avoice the account being frozen. Am I right?

Why are EOS usernames restricted to alpha or 1-5; why not 0-9?

Efficiency of RAM. The account name is stored in bits. Each letter takes up 5 bits of RAM. Since there are 32 possible values between 00000 and 11111 and the number of letters a-z is less, you get some digits for free...
