It was bad design. Bitcoin only trickles out 2mb of space into the blockchain every 10minutes while eos gave the market access to buy it all at once.

There wouldn't really be a way to track it and that wouldn't be fair. It also wouldn't be fair couldn't allocate just the minimum amount of RAM to a dapp because dapps are always upgrading. Which would just mean more voting.

However recently a BP did a test where they did an “Airgrab” where you sort of pre-claim for it to be sent to you. The idea behind that is the receiver uses their personal renewable recourses allocated to their EOS account, as opposed to the airdropper buying up a ton of RAM.

Well you can, but the longer you hold, the more you risk holding during a supply increase. I think the general consensus is that RAM will be increased steadily overtime, though.

But that means then, that BPs will know when RAM increases will happen and therefore will dump all RAM before performing the increase, right? Man EOS is so flawed...

Never put your private key anywhere, first create your Active/Owner keys from your private key, then only use your Active key in wallets to interact with the EOS blockchain and always keep your tokens staked. If your Active key gets compromised, you would have 3 days to create a new Active key using your Owner key which should always be kept offline in cold storage. Firstly, a snapshot date cannot be changed becuse the date is deterministic and depends on when the tokens were frozen. Secondly, using a genesis snapshot has nothing to do wiht “cheap running costs” Thirdly, “EOS active users” are actually attracted by Dapps, not the blockchain itself.

Thanks i never knew that. That is not flexible. A flexible snap shot would be better for reasons I've waxed on about already.

Mate we are not all techies and it isn't obvious. A the term snapshot indicates there is flexibility in when taking a snap shot. If there was flexibility more people would be attracted to eos.
