If you create an account name you'l need to pay ram that you need to access your private key. But if someone else creates account name for you, he/she only need you to send them the ram fee and PUBLIC KEY to set ownership.

Will probably frustrate some people like I was earlier though with such a limitation... But then again, EOS is pretty unique in offering a username to associate with a public key/wallet.

It's a big improvement over using the public key as the account which is how all the other blockchains do it.

Most are from genesis snapshot but staked or not staked, you'll get airdrops. Only ram I don't know. You purchase ran in exchange for tokens so future airdrops might not take ram into account. I'm not sure

Hi EOS Community! I missed the June 2nd deadline and now my ERC20 EOS tokens are frozen in my Jaxx Wallet :-( I followed the fallback procedure as suggested on eosauthority using scatter, but I am not sure if I was able to recover my 45 EOS tokens. When I look at eostracker, I only have 10 EOS tokens in my wallet and then 3 other airdropped tokens (HORUS, CET, and Karma) of which I have 45 each. Also, when trying to make a test transfer to my EOS Kraken wallet using walleteos, it says "unable to send transfer" 😁 please, please help!

Hi I Need Help I originally registered my EOS and had my original public key and private key, that I tested. I had an email from eos (can't find email) giving me my account name and new public key. Checked on eosauthority.com that had correct eos, my account name and new public key and on https://eosflare.io/account/myaccountname I tried to set up a eos-voter wallet but my public key (the one that was sent to me with my account name) did not match my private key. Sounds like a good question for those projects. Maybe they plan to do thing differently than cater to only you. If you have specifc questions about how a group is conducting their airdrop you should ask them. Keep in mind that not all groups conduct their airdrop or operate under the same criteria.

That's 10 EOS unstaked. At the launch of mainnet, the rest of your EOS were automatically staked to help with voting purposes. It also made the majority of your EOS more secure.

you missed the current airdrops. sorry. but you should qualify for most of the new airdrops that will use a new snapshot. to be safe transfer the tokens out of binance into an actual eos account you have the private key for. otherwise you depend on binance to support the airdrop and give it to you.

first you need an eos account. only then can you send tokens from binance there. or use any wallet software to interact with it. it takes an existing eos account to create a new account, so if you dont have a friend who can create one for you you have to use a third party service like https://www.zeos.co to forward them some eth or btc to pay for the price of ram required for the new account. should be around $25 right now for a new account?

the only thing that could still in theory be possible is that you used a scam key generator and the scammers kept your real private key and gave you a different one. you could verify that by posting your private key in scatter and seeing which public key gets displayed for it if it matches yours

hello, I had purchased the EOS tokens from Binance; moved them to Metamask and registered my wallet at eos.io before the 1st of June 2018. Since they are on Metamask, they are actually on the ERC20 format on the ETH blockchain, right? All the tokens on Ethereum are frozen, is what the eos.io website says. Can someone please help me with understanding if I can now move them from Metamask to Binance and sell them if (I wanted to sell)?

Nobody knows. They could be based off the genesis snapshot, they could do their own snapshot, it could be based on the number of staked, not staked. It's ultimately up to those who are conducting the airdrop. Keep in mind that not all airdrops are conducted under the same criteria.

But pay attention to what's going on with the amount of RAM on the network. At any time, BPs can increase the overall amount of RAM, in turn drastically dropping the value of any RAM previously purchased before hand.
