Yeah that's how I did it in the beginning too. Then I found out that it's way healthier if you can choose 30 bps. I became a proxy voter to help out with the health of the eos network because I know not everyone has time to investigate hundreds of block producers and make informed voting decisions. For balances use the Greymass wallet or any of the block explorers. Whether you need to stake or unstake depends on what you plan on doing with EOS

Yes, if you have your tokens staked and your active key gets compromised you have 3 days to change your active key before the bad actor is able to 'steal' your EOS

You currently have the keys of your EOS account, right? Just never use them until you plan on selling your EOS. Most people want to use their EOS more often, though, so if you plan on using your EOS more often your best bet is probably importing your wallet in Scatter

No problem. If you have imported your wallet into Scatter, you should be safe unless your pc/device is compromised. Same goes for using Scatter anywhere, whether it's for using a toolkit or signing a vote somewhere

Yeah I get that, and it's infuriating to see worthy bps that contribute a lot but don't have the votes backing them. I hate whales, always using their capitol to fleece the average Joe. There are a bunch of reasons why one would prefer to hold them in a wallet they control rather than an exchange, but no you do not have to convert them... It depends on what you mean by 'use' them. On most exchanges you cannot use them for voting, staking, buying RAM, other things...

I agree with most of what you're saying, and you're right that it hurts developers and there's technical ways around it. I just feel that in the grand scheme of things, this price discovery method is the least intrusive, most community oriented, social experiment to find the answers to the questions we are asking.

It's being ran into the ground by everyone who can...whales....BPs....RAM....Coinbase threw out it's own fud today not listing EoS to it's possible future additions....EoS has it's own issues all this is contributing....other tokens pumped off their hype when the time came....EoS will just have to wade it's way through the shit and prevail.
