Yeah, what John said. There's plenty to choose from. Altshiftdev.com (meow) would be handy if you need to transact from a computer without installing anything. Scatter is widely used by dapps and portals. Just make sure that you always rely on the ledger's screen to check information about what you're signing.

With the ledger you have access to any number of key pairs. They are derived deterministically by iterating through the address level of the derivation path. So you can choose index 0, 1, 2, 3 et cetera. Most ledger-compatible software wallets let you choose the index as you access your ledger, but I've a feeling that fairy wallet doesn't have this feature.

I don't know what they're doing, but if they do something along these lines I don't imagine it would be subpar compared with ledger. Mr Blumer said: "After much consideration we wanted to release the wallet in a way that empowered all existing EOSIO wallets, and didn’t compete with them; we landed on a solution we’re excited about. In the process of deeply exploring private key management we realized that no existing solutions met adequate security thresholds, so we began working with a leading hardware manufacture to create the ability for all EOSIO wallets to secure their EOS based assets with a higher degree of security than whats existed previously." Eosio allows a huge amount of flexibility and fine-grained control over accounts. There are various ways of setting up permission control over accounts (see the whitepaper fur some examples). I don't know whether or not these things might come into play in a way which makes it simple for end users. Is it possible that these things could be addressed to some extent with a hardware wallet, or would they be the focus with software wallets? I don't know, I'm probably pushing it too far at this point. There's certainly room for improvement over the ledger though. The ledger is very good, but it's very general, and wasn't designed with eos in mind...

No, ledger have released their eos app which you install on the ledger device. Then you can use the ledger with loads of different wallets, including meow.

No, EOS ledger live app is community made app verified by ledger. I believe Ledger submitted Fairy dev app. As I remember there were 2 EOS app implementations before release. The first by Fairy. The second maybe by altshiftdev, but not sure. You forgot about Cypherglass bounty. I hope Fairy got that)

Yes, the eos app which you install on the ledger device is the code submitted by the fairy wallet developer. But once you've installed that you can use the ledger with a multitude of wallets, including altshiftdev.com (@realtequila)

That doesn't matter though because the eos was still allocated to your Ethereum address by the snapshot script. As stated in video we are reliant on few of the producers to run history nodes on EOS, as the chain expands Bps need to spend more on running history clusters (also need technical expertise to run and maintain). History nodes aren't cheap to run and maintain, a large chunk of EOSTribe's rewards goes towards running history cluster for mainnet. They are operating at a loss for now. If token prices couldn't support the hardware and technical costs related to history nodes, we might be reliant on inflation or WPS to fund it.

I think the hold up is waiting for the extra funds via something like rex4all referendum. Want it to come out as 'juicy' as possible to have as much positive news associated with it as possible. If REX went live right now and returns looked like Chintai (or worse), then it would not be great news. https://eos.chintai.io/exchange/EOS7D Demand for resources is not very high right now. B1 made EOS too efficient with the release of EOSIO 1.6 😊

For one - we haven't seen a dapp on mass adoption scale from a large company with funds at level of B1. Sure Eth has put out some apps, but they are shitty and they aren't taken very seriously. When you start to get into the realm of tokens that could have far reaching implications on a larger number of users, including income (or rewards) of some kind, that would typically require regulators approval.

I think I have figured out why governments and rules exist. To water out those who are not smart or hard working enough to become rich no matter what system is in place. Having taxes and rules benefit the smartest most ruthless and in a sense most naturalistic pramatic people. They would not do as well in a completely free society. They would still do great, but they limitd competition by implementing rules that many people find difficuly. Ahh I look back to the days of early entrepreneurship and how I was afraif of doing things wrong. I realised how all these rules are bypassed very easily by loopholes that were there by design. Interesting stuff.

No, ledger have released their eos app which you install on the ledger device. Then you can use the ledger with loads of different wallets, including meow.

Do you know how the ledger live mobile app would interact with the EOS blockchain? I used Fairywallet with ledger to set it up on a PC, not sure how it will work with the mobile app though once nano x rolls out

I've not looked into it thoroughly. I seem to recall that the mobile app has very limited functionality with the ledger nano s (is it like a watch-only wallet?). When it comes to the ledger nano X I __think__ it will work for any cryptocurrency which can be controlled from the ledger live desktop app. Unfortunately eos can't yet be accessed this way, can it? The eos app can be installed on the ledger device, but then it requires third party software to do transactions (fairy, greymass, scatter, meow et cetera). I might have some of this wrong, but that's how it sits in my head 🤪

Yeah the way I understand it is that all of the nodes are running full history. Just a handful are indexing that history for dApps to query

Wallets don't store tokens, the blockchain does. Wallets only act as an interface, allowing you to interact with your eos account.

Exodus automatically unstaked users eos tokens without users knowing about it. They carried out transactions on a blockchain on behalf of their users without explicit permission. They have stated their reasons for doing so, but I'd not use a closed source wallet which uses my private keys to do transactions without my consent.

We need trusted custodians who can manage private keys on behalf of those who are unable, but still encourage individuals to learn how to manage their own keys for ultimate security.
