You don't have to choose one of the ledger-compatible wallets, you can pretty much use them all if you like because you'll end up controlling the same accounts. Most allow you to choose which address level index you want to use (0, 1, 2, 3...) giving you multiple keys if you want. Generally I'd recommend that you get most functionality from scatter. Greymass is solid, and is set up to support BEOS (@officialbeos). If you need a web-based wallet there's https://altshiftdev.com .

well @jzarecta claimed you can write python and it compiles to wasm (same as normal c++ to wasm compilation), but looks at eos factory documentation it seems you still have to deal with c++ in the smart contract

The current inflation rate base on % is way too high considering the impact of compounded interest. Perhaps should switch to a fixed amt inflation, or rather, the % is defined wrt to the genesis supply (e.g. fixed inflation rather than compounded % interest) that will cause out of control level of inflation as the network and price grows.

Maybe you should access your Telos account and change your keys if you've not done that, and the scammers haven't got to it. At least that way you'd keep control of your Telos account. Same for any other chains using the eos genesis keys.

but here's an alternative and depressive perspective to play devil's advocate. 2017 could be described as some as critical mass. it's entirely possible that bakkt and such are approved but nobody really enters in a way that is meaningful enough to trigger an irrational bull run, and so we slow bleed into irrelevance and cryptocurrencies are eventually looked at through a nostalgic lense like dial-up and bbs.

The theory about not wanting an audit is also wrong. I remember reading or hearing an interview with Rob and he actually said he was managing their treasury of 5 billion in the end (not 4). But they have been dropping hints. Steemit 2.0, hardware wallet, DEX, etc. Maybe they don't want to do a big show and dance about it to attract attention of the competition? Also these things take time. 7 months is nothing. Do you realise how much complexity there is in this space? It's a completely new frontier. Brendan has even been hinting about meeting with government. To me there are trying to get everything lined up nicely for a big bang launch.

Although there has been at least one nefarious app posing as an eos wallet, maybe you're thinking of the recent fake Telos website scam. There have been transactions sent to loads of users with a memo from scammers stating that they should claim their Telos account from a fake website.

IPFS is virtually the gold standard as of now regarding decentralized storage solutions, but if your files are not popular, your content does not get seeded and your files eventually die. The idea behind eos.io storage is that Blockproducers would also serve as IPFS nodes and you would pay for the storage by staking EOS and thus being exposed to the 5% inflation.

Privacy is protected by hashing the data. No one ever needs to know the information except the KYC provider in the case where your account is hacked and you wish to recover it. It allows BPs to know, in an automated way, that an account was hacked, that the owner of the account is indeed the owner, and allow for new keys to be issued extremely quickly

If you stake your EOS, you have to wait 3 days after unstaking it in order to use it. This is a security feature in case your account gets hacked. Staked EOS can be used for voting for BPs. There shouldn't be an incentive for doing this, other than good BPs increase the value of the network. Staked EOS allow you to use the network through CPU and NET bandwidth use. So you can interact with dApps for longer if you have more EOS staked

That is bribery. In EOS the point is that your vote helps keep the system decentralised, and the BPs do lots of value-add work in order to earn your vote

I initially thought it was a simple drop. However it appears they inform you how much you are entitled to and you claim your allocated pEOS on their site. This is what the telegram chat and Airdrop notification is suggesting. I imagine that many are reluctant to claim because of the recent tlos scam.

I imagine it should be evident from the action they ask you to sign whether or not it's dangerous. The fake Telos asked people to carry out an updateauth action which changes your keys, for example, which is obviously a no-no.
