It would be good to have some open analytics since Telegram is not private or encrypted by default? I see the bots have many functions, they can log stats into a blockchain as well, so you could even have semi privacy in no outside onlookers a closed group but stats about behaviour, seeing who floods or who posts excess links..

So basically this is my today’s conclusion for REX. Rex currently pays us the EOS that is spent on loaned resources. Meaning as of today we need more demand for resource, aka more people building on EOS. Also the amount you need to support your dapp is based on how many users you have + tx they produce? So after June 1st when block.one showcases there plan to implement something that can not only on board people but retain them coming back for more we won’t have massive loans being taken out. 1. Another thing that can add value is if the referendum to get name fees paid to Rex. 2. Another is the 33mil coins in eosio.savings account do we burn them, do we use them, do we pay it over a tome period to the Rex pool to REALLY INCENTIVE staking to Rex. 4. Another is cutting the 4% inflation out of the total 5% that it is currently. Guys that’s a lot of stuff that can have a nice upward effect on price in my view.

you don't actually, technically store them anywhere. anyone with the private key can get your tokens/coins on any blockchain i'm aware of. certainly EOS/ETH/BTC. the ledget securely stores your private keys. i strongly suspect you're misunderstanding how it works for ERC20 tokens. though have never used it for that.

I don't know man.. I can never think of a good reason to burn eos. I think inflation has a purpose, and that purpose is to manage growth. Wer should focus the resources on growth, but at the same time, we are in our infancy, so it would appear that we will be requiring some of these resources for the growth spurts that are sure to come. I'm on the fence about it, but I lean away from burning as do you. 👍

I think it's important to recognize the hard work that independent proxies are doing for EOS voters. I'm sure B1 has all the token holders in mind each and every time they move a muscle. They wouldn't be flexing on average joes like that. There's no need to and they always remain neutral for the most part in these early stages of network development. It's been working great so far.

I think you will eventually be able to choose your side chain of choice, with its own governance/inflation model. Fun to contemplate all this stuff, but as Dan said there will be no mainnet as we currently see it. What will be interesting is the “exchange rates” between side chains - based upon perceived token value in relation to their governance/inflation.

Yeah, the equilibrium that the universe usually demands might work in our favor here. As tokens get more distributed amongst new players, new speculators and most importantly, more kliller dapp users then the network effect of defending the price should also stabilize. Like an immune system, maintaining the health of the network automagically through these individual self interests all aligning with each other collectively. Not through slavery (which is entirely possible given the tech and the stranglehold we're already in) but through free markets and volutary actions.

The writer of the article is a tendermint supporter so expect some bias. He is making a few valid points. We can improve on securing the network by penalizing BP's for bad behaviour and rewarding voter participation more. I believe we need to use inflation to reward voters. Yes the money supply will expand but the network will be more secure as more people will vote

If I launched a new chain for some use case, I would not use genesis. I would use the state of EOS now. Those who sold after genesis would get nothing.

Does it bother others also that some BPs are having so close relationship with proxies and even starting their own ones? Isn’t that completely opposite what this should look like: independent, well-informed entities looking after voters’ interests..?

Most BPs have proxies. It’s just some are more honest about it than others and some communicate what they stand for more than others. Some suspect that the largest proxy of all (The Starkness) is a BP backed proxy. Here’s a list: https://www.alohaeos.com/vote/proxy

eosvibesvote (proxy) has been campaigning hard on removing the needless 4% inflation. There’s strength in numbers and the campaign has picked up momentum. Without coming together and voting in the same direction, our voices are just lines of text in Telegram. Combined voting (through a proxy who supports what you support) adds both weigh and a lever to make what you want happen.
