Another question:. If I have tokens stakes in one of those dapps that pay dividends, and I change my private keys, will the dapp still recognize my account to pay me dividends? Also, would that cause problems with unstaking the tokens after changing the keys?

This line of reasoning isn’t logical to me. The balance to BP power is not 1% EOS to the community. This merely distributes EOS to a broad base of people. There is no effect to the power the BPs hold for their power lies in being a block producer, voted into a position to make decisions on behalf of the community. Money is irrelevant! The solution for balance lies with one unique ID, 1 vote. In this way you have decentralized voting forces keeping a centralized power structure in check. We need to start thinking in this way. BPs are not evil. They are merely part of a system that centralizes a process in order to conduct a function. In turn, resources are garnered. Centralized and decentralized are merely terms that define a given state of a system. They are not absolute, they are forever changing states that exist in a properly designed solution for interchangeable balance. We must complete the cycle in order to create the balance of power required by the system.

Good thoughts ....Focus will be needed to lower the friction to vote when ID solution(s) are presented. Voter incentive structures need to outweigh frictional forces.

That model will not work to balance the system. I understand your thinking, it makes sense but it leads to power concentration and thus corruption and manipulation. A system without balance ultimately destroys itself. The balance lies in distributed, verifiable, frictionless/incentivized, voting power. This must be protected. When power becomes too polarizing/centralized, what will bring balance back to the system if skin in the game thinking prevails? Balancing forces will have no power to correct centralized forces.

I disagree. but we won't ever get to really find out on this platform will we. Since EOS started out weighing votes according to wealth, the wealthy will always keep it that way. It should have started out 1 to 1 from the beginning. That way if people really believed that 1 for 1 doesn't work, they could have voted against it. That would have been a true vote reflecting the will of the people. Money weighted votes only reflect the will of the money, and that is always the few.

We have very little sybil protection. The people who can use this to their advantage are the more wealthy as they can afford to create as many accounts as they please to vote with. we'd end up with rule by the wealthy anyway. 1 person one vote means that the people who create the headlines decide where the votes go. ccn and coindesk would run eos. How often do they get a story right about EOS and tell the truth? Whats to stop someone heavily invested in the success of another platform from joining the vote to hurt eos?

1 unique ID, 1 vote. There is no perfect all inclusive silver bullet. It is a give and take. If there are vectors that are open to corruption/concentration then we need to apply the same laws of balance to those processes.

Seems like this would go against a fundamental element of "proof of stake" You're proving an account not stake. You aren't vested the same as a larger holder, therefore you have less at risk if you make shitty choices. This isn't a democracy. And that's by design not by mistake.

I don’t think crypto can be outlawed. They can try but it’ll always be there. Only way to try to ban is to have isps block crypto sites unless I am missing something. Even if bank transfers to crypto exchanges become disallowed, there will still be local sellers.

I find it funny that people think communism is a pipe dream that requires perfect people without greed which can't be acomplished, and then turn around and think "anarchy, no problem". LOL Perhaps your version of anarchy can work. I would like to see someone try it. I'm glad someone tried communism, even though it didn't work out. At least now we know. They must have the majority of tokens then. The tokens put BP's in power. Only way we decentralize the power is by decentralizing the token distribution. Everyone should just buy an eos token as a gift for everyone in their family. And when that's done, China will still have more tokens and more power. I think that's fairly natural under these circumstances. I'm not afraid of that. China is doing great as part of the EOS family. Until I see fireworks, things are running pretty smooth.

Do you not think its better to do what (hate to say it) the central banks do and monitor interest rates on a monthly or quarterly basis, and adjust accordingly. BP pay a is fine tuning instrument -too little and whole thing comes down - too much and the same outcome.

I wish there was a way to link our thumbprint to our accounts so we could log in to the Dapps and EOS accounts like we do on iOS. That way if there were malicious users, those thumbprints could be banned from creating accounts because their digital identitiy would be liked to a physical person. Right now we are banning scammers from the chats but they just create new accounts and jumping right back in. This would solve that problem. There needs to be some sort of system to penalize those who use the system to harm others and linking physical / digital identities would identify malicious users.

understood but if you read up EOS does things that require the bp set up that exists...to pay for that you need inflation...that inflatio. should be offset in some way...why not ubi. ubi wi help greatly with mass adoption. mass adoption will help greatly to increase token price.

I think allocation of inflation to ubi is the only way to ensure fairness and integrity on use of funds.

Is allocating EOS inflation to UBI enough? let's assume 2% inflation goes to UBI, that's roughly 20 million eos a year. If we assume 10 million unique accounts, that's 2 eos per person per year.

I would also support a small increase in bp pay to 1.5% as it is clear costs for a well run bp are high.

Do you mind sharing the math behind? How do you calculate costs for a well run a bp? How do you calculate that the current EOS $ price is not enough?

Ethereum has a lot of merits if 2.0 and Plasma ever comes into fruition. I know that's blasphemy in EOS Land, but I've never been into the tribalism so prevelant in crypto.
