no, barely any. just minimal to hold tokens. depends on the dapp if it wants to use your ram. you can always delete unused ram memory and get the space back once you no longer want to use a dapp occupying your ram.

i hope rex makes it possible for dapps to stake *all* resources involving account creaction, general use of a dapp, etc. wherein resources are protected by ip associated rate-limiting, proxy/botnet blacklists, captchas etc. without that i don't think mainnet will be widely adopted and a lot of ideas worth programming will require their own eosio sister chains and enough traction in their token out of the gate to recruit bps.

If gambling with e.g. EOS tokens becomes too big, I am sure many Governments will react. Huge legalised and licensed gambling companies will not just let their players go easily. Governments sell gambling licenses and make tax of gambling. And governments can close down things if they really want or at least make a lot of problems for BPs and Token Gambling sites.

That's why keeping 1MB blocks was a good idea because it allows anyone to still run a full node, keeping BTC as decentralised as possible. EOS is doing something totally different so no point comparing these two projects as transaction speed is a trade off for being more centralised.

So if you registered your ethereum address with an eos public key you should have saved the eos private key at the time. You just need to choose an eos wallet and use your eos private key to access your eos account.

At the moment your active owner and private keys will be identical. At some point you may wish to change the owner key so that you have an owner private key which remains offline. Or you could use a ledger nano s.

In that case a convenient solution would be to use scatter desktop. You can import your genesis private key and then easily change your key(s) to one from your ledger. There are many interfaces which use scatter, so this would give you a lot of flexibility.

I've seen Dan comment on vote buying before. I think it was on the BitShares forum some years ago. I wouldn't like to paraphrase at this point, but it shouldn't be too hard to find. I certainly hope they have difference of opinions. Vote buying can be many different things. If a BP spends 1000 EOS a week on marketting material to build a brand and target the audience of voters and that fosters some positive results, it can be said that the money they spent earned them extra votes. Marketting a campaign is different than directly depositing to voters accounts, but essentially, it's money being spent to gather votes either way... What would you prefer? 1.) Money directly into your account each week for voting? 2.) Watching a bunch of advertisements on BP's until you pick one? I'm not saying it's good or bad, I'm just making an observation on how the money is being spent. Personally, I prefer the aus1genereos 3rd option 3.) Work your ass off, build tools for the community, give away a large portion of your profits to community voted charities, and hope for the best. As you can see by the actual votes across the network, it's not who you are, it's who you know. Vote aus1genereos or set proxy to eoswatchdogs ❤️

Marketing is not the same as incentivizing voting.

marketting does indirectly incentivize voting, it's just not a direct form of funding that would be seen as vote buying, however the end results are the same. Money is being spent to get votes. Some BP's are taking the easy path, and some are marketing creatively. Are they the same thing? No. They are closely related though, and that is what makes vote buying such a thin line. Those who spend the most on marketting should have a clear advantage on the amount of votes they get based on outreach. The more creative your marketting the more votes you will get. Some BP's are opting to just give rewards to voters directly and that undermines all the creativity that goes into many campaigns.

There is no moving to be done. The erc-20 tokens were used for the distribution snapshot. The snapshot was used to create eos accounts when the blockchain was launched. Therefore your tokens are already in your eos account on the eos blockchain. Unless, that is, you didn't register your ethereum address AND your ethereum address had no outgoing transactions before June 2018. In this case you'd need to use the eosio.claim contract to access your tokens. Basically, you already have an eos account, and you just need your eos private key to access it. See eosauthority.com

I think (open to correction) it appears stuck until you do another transaction. Just continue using the blockchain and don’t worry about it until you get an “out of cpu” error.

makerdao/dai are amazing and you can definitely build cool stuff on ethereum but i think the transaction fee model is obsolete and a bottleneck to mainstream adoption. with the decentralized on-chain user db solutions proposed by priveos we might see a whole new world. a dazzling place we never knew.
