If you've no eos account toy can create one (even from an exchange) with https://eos-account-creator.com/ You can use your nano ledger s to get an eos public key. You'd need to use the ledger with something like scatter desktop, fairy wallet, greymass altshiftdev.com

General advice would be to move private keys as little as possible to avoid exposing them. So if you're using a 'wallet' for eos which also works with telos, there's no point moving keys into another piece of software unless there's another feature you need. Also consider whether you would benefit from changing your account keys on any chain (this would depend upon your specific situation).

The pinned message of the group though is WHEN MOON? and EOS is still following BTC (pretty much all cryptos are) if BTC moves up EOS also. If price cant be mentioned then EOS shouldn't be a public chain, rather a free private chain :) or at the very least have an official trade channel and have that displayed in pinned message (and also mention in message that no talk of price is allowed)

I need help with the fallback mechanism. I went on eosauthority.com and I have watched the short video “how to generate my fallback key” I have installed Scatter like said in the above video. I went to import key, chose the “import from hard wallet” option and then chose the ETH blockchain. Now when I go to select a hard wallet option Trezor is not in there (which is where I have my EOS erc20 token) I got my private key from the sign message on MEW but it seems it only applies to the unregistered token. I am out of idea how to proceed 🤷‍♂️

Makten: Proposals like "Would EOS be better off if ECAF would not be able to issue key switching orders and we would rather rely on the code and block producers 15 out of 21 multisig?" are terrifying. Not that the intention or the targeted result is bad but this is not how you word a proposal of law. This wordy openness can lead to more problems and explaining within the proposal what happens if the proposal passes, can lead to misinformation influencing choice. Each proposal needs a strict proposed action and hard end. Saying things like "and we would rather" or "xyz is better for xyz" can lead to more more issues of confusion and what's acceptable. Not sure how to correct this besides appointing officials that are responsible for writing proposals that the community desires or requiring fees to submit proposals (Credit: Rudmudcrab). There's always the more risky option of only making a proposal official if it's submitted by a BP. Most people will not understand properly worded law and why it's so important. Those same people can now submit law that seems great on the surface. Opinions within a proposed action can be even more dangerous. Continuing down this path will only lead to a best case scenario or EOS referendum turning into a light suggestion box.

It's purpose is to moving the power of decisionto the voters. This is intended to improve decenteralization of EOS governance. Without submission fees, strong guidelines or appointed officials. The wording of such proposals can be dangerous. Eventually BP's would be forced to make sense of it and use it as nothing more than a suggestion. This result would not move power to the voter.

If referendums fails to get enough traction then we might move to representive one, where BPs take steps in interest of the network if they don't they could be voted out.

Thats would ceetainly stop spam proposals. But not sure if it would be helpful to general pools to get general opinions

One of the proposals says this (can't link), is this true or false? "More tokens do not equal more resources. Spreading the same utilities across more tokens reduces each token’s utility capacity." "Each EOS token represents a share of limited CPU and Network capacity provided by Block Producer hardware on EOS. These utilities are limited by real world hardware. As more tokens enter supply, less resources from this hardware are attributed to each token. sometimes I forget I changed the permission of an account, and Scatter holds the old keys when I go to use it it doesn't work. Just one possibility.

What are you trying to do through scatter? Which website are you using it with? To make sure you're selecting the correct key with which to sign, you could search in scatter for the public key associated with your eos account when you're selecting which account to log in to the website with. Does that make sense? You could also try going to @scatter telegram group

She is onto something, your exchange account can show any number as you don’t have any private keys. If people want to withdraw simultaneously more than the exchanges own, suddenly technical problems appear, and of course they sell to you even if they don’t own it, profit is profit.

You can always try having them sign a Non-Disclosure, but that is difficult to enforce. My best suggestion is to start going to as many meetups and crypto/developer related things as you can go to, even if it means a far drive. Meet with people, get to know them, make friends.... then when you believe you have a competent and apt willing person able to develop what you are lookng for, then hopefully you will be able to trust them at that point.

There are many updates that BPs have been doing (backend changes for optimization, security, etc) that do not require community consensus (this is why BPs are elected). However, the current thinking is that appropriation/ redirection of funds are not one of those.

"Community"? What community? The vast majority of EOS holders are still the when moon, when lambo, speculators. There are only a handful that care, which is no different than any other blockchain. That's the weakness of DPOS. You need the token holders to be engaged and pay attention. Hodlers who just stick their tokens in a wallet and forget about them until they can buy a lambo are poison to dpos.

Agree that hodlers are a slow poison, but that's how all projects start out, with speculation and hopium. Delegated proof of stake requires active participation, as do all governing systems, so the more participation the better off we all are. Even the non participants are benefitting from the more active participants, so it's good to have voter decay in this way. Is it a pain in the ass? Yeah it is. Does it help more than it hurts? unless you have over 1M EOS your vote doesn’t really matter. the only EOS community that counts is the one that can actually manage mainnet through voting. the 150M voting cartel + 100M b1 wallet are the only 2 consequential forces in the eos community. 99.x% of the “eos community” is actually just the eos social community - whose votes are good for nothing but PR and a false sense of actual involvement.
