Cypherblock is a block explorer like Bloks.io where you could the transactions done by different wallets, bp ranks, marketcap of different coins and other details.

For making transactions you need to stake EOS to get resources like CPU/NET. You could use the resources to transact on various dApp like Murmur, betdice among others.

Transactions are free on EOS. You need to stake resources in CPU/Net to make transactions on EOS. Instead of fees EOS limits the spaming using resources one account have. Nodes are paid using inflation.

Highly depends on the dapp (and their version of scatter-js), but chrome always works. There's also a problem with 10.1+ which we are working on so if you're using chrome and it's still breaking try installing 10.0.3 over your Scatter

We’ve been testing REX for a month on Jungle. I’ve been writing a status report and will finish soon. We will need another version from B1 (due soon). REX loans mature in a month for example there are also time delays on sellrex etc. This stretched out our tests, we managed to cover all the actions. Once we have REX tested it can be implemented without channeling ramfee and namebids by just switching off a flag. So it can be implemented before the referendum and updated easily after to switch the community funds on. @joshkauff

Bitshares was different, in a different time. Catered mostly to BTC holders who didn't want to "transact" or even use crypto more than the odd buy or sell here and there. Now we have dapps and a chain that is useable. Marketing is important for useable things.

There were few things which attracted me to EOS as well. I initially thought ECAF and WPS were good ideas for governance and scalability. Something which changed my mindset around ECAF was lack of check and balances also scalability of the forums. It was just an experiment which meant to failed as it assumed many things like voters would follow all the awards rendered by the forums. What irks me a little about CDF is the emergency of launching it, I hope we move slowly towards launching something like WPS and play with the idea of voluntarism first, if it fails to fulfil the needs then something like CDF could be introduced. For now it is just promises of unknown proposals and developments.

Still thinking it all over. It all takes time... I'd prefer to bypass the need for both, but perfection is impossible and we will always be working interim systems and backup human systems. Might as well design it, or get stuck with what "winging it" brings.

You'd get a private key and a public key because they are a pair. But you can have the same keypair for owner and active. It's just much safer to have two separate key pairs (public/private) for both permissions (active/owner)

I have my account set up like this: I use a alarm bot to notify me of any activity on my account name. @EOSAlarmEBot Owner permission has a private key / Public key (cold storage, paperwallet, safety deposit box buried 6 feet deep) Active permission has a separate keypair (used for everyday activities connecting to dapps etc etc) If my everyday activities (ACTIVE keys) ever get me in trouble and my keys are compromised, I can dig up my owner keys and "change the locks" on my active permission. (https://eostoolkit.io/account/permissions) If you have your tokens STAKED then you have the added security of 3 days (72 hours) to change your keys before a hacker can move your tokens off your account.

Yep, make sure you save your keys print them off and keep them safe. Use the PUBLIC key to generate new permissions like new owner or active permission and that public key you use is paired with the PRIVATE keys that you never show anyone.

Hi all. I was trying to wrap my head around how the "native" EOS tokens are transferred within contracts. From what I have researched it seems that there is a single "eosio.token" contract in the eos blockchain and if we need some transfer of tokens, we need to call transfer action of that contract with requisite permissions. So, for example, if I need to issue some of my tokens, eg myCoin in exchange of EOS coins, do I need to perform two actions, one to transfer EOS and then to transfer myTokens? Or is there an alternative like payble functions in ethereum?
