If it's the first transaction you are trying to make - 1. You may wait and try transacting when the network is a little free. 2. If you have been transacting using the account - you need to wait and stake more tokens.

Maybe somebody can explain what is going on with the network. I don't seem to understand it completely. I have a problem with s transaction on eosknight, I get the message I need to stake more eos. When I look at bloks.io there are only 20/3996 transactions. Why do I need to stake more, doesn't looks like a maxed out network 🤔

When the network is not fully used users can "overcharge" the network, meaning they use more bandwidth than technically eligible for with currently staked EOS. Sounds good in theory, if the network is not being used anyways, then let users actually utilizing it give a little bit more than their theoretical limit. But then once the network is back to being fully used (congested) then suddenly the fact that you overcharged your staked EOS will actually lock you out which can catch people by surprise.

there's no accurate gauge on the block explorers/wallets that would show how much cpu you are guarenteed.. they show you the numbers like this using 1000/12341234... the 12341234 will change depending on how busy the network is

How does the current CPU issue relate to the fairly low TPS figure? The system is still far too complex for the typical EOS hodler/user that wants to invest in the project long term, but who might occasionally dabble with airgrabs or dice games. I'd wager that the vast majority of EOS holders have no knowledge/use of & no interest in the majority of these techie parameters. Will the typical hodler have to periodically sell EOS on some exchange & purchase 'RAM' to be able to interact with the blockchain? I don't remember the idea being 'sold' to us like this. There seems to be endless tinkering required & a MASSIVE amount of over-complexity: trusting some 3rd party chrome extension to interact with another 3rd party website that allows you to interact with the blockchain in some ways. But to do other things you need a different 3rd party website... And then a transaction fails, but you've no idea why. And then there's multiple different addresses, account names... active account, password. Have I just accidentally given my private key to an anonymous 3rd party by mistake, or do I have to do that? It's all so confusing....we are being asked to swim in the sea that only BPs & Dapp developers should be in. My bitcoin investments are easy. I have a private key & a public key. I don't give out my public key. Simples! Is this a complaint from an EOS fanboy? YES. But it's hopefully a constructive complaint. I am the (unelected) representative of the large majority of EOS hodlers totally baffled by the (over)complexity of the EOS token holder experience. Dan is a stone-cold genius, but he has form for making overly-complex ecosystems (Steem with it's THREE interconnected currencies anyone?). I ask for more customer-focused devs to package the EOS token holder experience in a more user friendly way. Maybe this will come in time....until then us hodlers will continue having to devote hours a week to try & get our heads around the latest baffling technical twist in the ecosystem.

In my previous incarnation as an electronic engineer in a satellite ground station I made it my mission to learn all the various new systems that were appearing on racks & write easy user guides to them that I laminated & attached to the equipment. I am a developer, but I totally agree with you. It's a valid point. However the system layering is supposed to hide all that complexity... eventually. On the other hand not much can be done when CPU is like that... A system supposably having hit 4000tps, is now running at 10tps and there is no free CPU? You have to stake tens of EOS just to make a eosio.token transfer... What is wrong? Are all BPs running on dirt cheap amazon clusters? I don't know...

This is obviously on the BPs... A system like EOS writen in C++, running all in memory, is very weird to run 5-10 transactions in 200ms that is the block limit. Currently transactions on EOS hardly do any complex computation. A game today can do crazy things in 16ms that a frame at 60fps takes, BPs here do 10-20 transactions..

One way would to be when a BP falls below the performance of other BPs by a certain variance for a certain number of times in a row, that it is automatically lowered by one in the BP ranking and receives less reward. If this happens again, it again is automatically lowered by one in the reward ranking and so on. Similarly if a lowered BP's performance returns to that of other BP's it's ranking is similarly incrementally returned to its voted reward position.

Yes, staking more EOS for CPU will give you more CPU for processing the transaction; however...there's been a huge spike in the amount of EOS needed to be staked for CPU usage since a large dApp on EOS is paying a lot for the right to use a lot of CPU.

If you registered your original Ethereum address properly, then you would have an EOS account on EOS mainnet. You should have keys to that account from the registration process. With those keys, you can access your EOS on mainnet by using any of the available EOS wallets from various Block Producer Candidates and send EOS from the wallet to the exchange by using the memo line in the transfer.

I understand your points, but I think your perspective comes from a viewpoint which isn't quite the place from where eos should be viewed at the moment. You say, "...we are being asked to swim in the sea that only BPs & Dapp developers should be in". I think we are early adopters voluntarily playing around and tinkering near the 'base level' of the network, which in the long term is really intended for the likes of BPs and developers. It's all still being built, and if it's built properly these complications will be abstracted away for end users. These current struggles are part and parcel of the road traveled by early adopters. The architecture with multiple key pairs, accounts et cetera are necessarily and they enable great features which will actually make feasible frictionless adoption by end users.

all transactions are different.. Some maybe very CPU intensive while others are not.. Right now alot of transactions are from the dice games we have on EOS, and you see less tps because those transactions consume much more cpu than a typical token transfer
