Since the mainnet launch the global blockchain parameters were left as default, and now with a recent increase of the usage, the users noticed that the system contract is triggering the CPU congestion mode too early. As soon as a block hits 10% of the total 200ms of CPU time allowed per block, the CPU allocation algorithm switches to the congestion mode and every user is left with his share of the remaining allocation based on their stake in proportion to the whole network stake. What ended up happening is that while the actual CPU usage of the validators is very low, the CPU price became higher. This proposal aims to change the current value for target_block_cpu_usage_pct from 1000 (10%) to 2000 (20%), tests were performed on the CryptoKylin testnet showing that the algorithm transition happens in a much smoother way and also allowed more resources from the nodes to be used. Test reports are available here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1m_YZ1FFC1awRjXEA-wjtXAl7LzyWB9xE3qupdlQU7fc/edit?usp=sharing Ideally, this value should be updated considering the growth of usage on the mainnet, and it is a safe parameter to revert at any time.

It's iterative. To my knowledge, BP hardware isn't under strain so the issue is in the software (there is already a proposal by BPs to help solve the issue). BPs and technical community can respond and adapt now that the network is being pushed by non-spam TXs.

your active key can be used for everyday transactions and whatnot... Its the key you wanna use for signing just about anything.. owner you should keep safe and offline incase something happens to your active key.. owner key can change permissions and active can't.

I'm not properly following what you mean, in particular when you say "then I change the permission of my ledger". In an emergency you could still change your keys, even without this function being supported through the use of your ledger. But it's not secure unless you __really__ know what you're doing, so general advice would be don't do it. It would involve using your ledger's mnemonic phase, and unless you go to great lengths would mean that it's then best to consider your mnemonic to be compromised.

hi folks. bit of a weird question but is there a way to find out what exchanges were trading EOS (erc20) on the 9th July 2017? I am looking at my historical txs and I have that i sold a bunch on that day, however they appeared to come out directly from my MEW account to an address that has been labeled as a scammer. I thought I had sold on an exchange, and even have a vague memory of doing so. Maybe the exchange was a scam? (although I cant rememeber where i sold them). I am less interested that I got scammed although that sucks, but more about resolving what happened. Cheers

That depends on the price of the token, which is often hard to predict. You can however get rid of the RAM usage of the token after you have airgrabbed it by sending it to an address which already holds that token

From my understanding when there’s a contract on the main eos chain and a contract on a side chain and you transfer the tokens then the proof of the transaction can be read on the side chain and you get your tokens there

yup, to use token within sidechain, one has to stake their tokens to a special contract so they won't be able to able to use these tokens and the same amount of token one has staked will be release in sidechain via some notification process and merkle tree proof ..

Hi all, Ledger just confirmed that a second version of the EOS app (my version) will be available on Nov 6th! Here’s some of the features you can expect: 1. Support multi-action transactions 2. Arbitrary tx signing for unknown structures 3. updateauth command support for changing your @active and @owner keys 4. createAccount command support for generating a new eos account with ram and stake (no more having to buy an account!) 5. ill come with a standalone javascript API so devs can make use of it.

If you have eos erc-20 tokens you must have had them at the time of the snapshot at the beginning of June. They were frozen and cannot be transferred. The snapshot was used to allocate native eos tokens according to the balances of the frozen erc-20 distribution. The balances were in the genesis block of eos. If you put your ethereum address in at eosauthority.com it'll tell you your eos account name. You can access your eos account with the eos private key which you generated if you registered. If you didn't register you'll have to use your ethereum private key (see if eosauthority says you might be able to use fallback). If you didn't register and you can't use fallback, I think you'll have to use the eosio.claim contract to access your account.

It depends upon your criteria. There are several now which can be used with a ledger hardware wallet. But there is less functionality at the moment with a ledger. You could, for example, set your owner key as the one for your ledger.

You're misunderstanding. This website can't be used to create an account. You're supposed to enter your ethereum address here to see if you can use fallback. If not there's another option. Which public key did you enter? Perhaps I can help you in private message if you like.

There are sometimes offers where you can get a free one, but usually you have to pay. But did you understand that you already have an eos genesis account? I'm not sure that I made that clear enough in my explanation before. You can create another account using your genesis account if you want to choose your own account name.

if you registered for snapshot back before June launch you already have an account. eosauthority.com will allow for putting your ETH address in and seeing your new main net account name which should be 12 characters randomized. Then you will need your private key you should have to log into a wallet tool like greymass eos-voter wallet to access the assets within. After you have your account name you can also view your account on a block explorer such as bloks.io

You cannot do that. But you don't need to create a new account. You can just changed the key(s) of your genesis account to the key from your ledger.

I did some searching and figured out that the greymass wallet has a function to reclaim unstaked eos, so I did that and instantly got my eos back as liquid eos. I just thought the unstaking was 100% automatic... I guess it would have eventually returned to liquid/unstaked state on its own? Either way, learned something today. 👍

Thanks for your help. I ended up figuring out that Greymass offers a "claim unstaked" function that allowed me to put the unstaked EOS into liquid (transferable) form again. Not sure if Bloks has that feature, or some sort of info about how to do that, because I sure didn't know what to do until I looked it up. So it seems that unstaked EOS don't always automatically become liquid again after 72 hrs... 🤔
