Thanks Sandwich. I appreciate your saying this and I do regret any negativity that came from me in that period. Fortunately all of these things are in the past and what's in the future is a really strong prospect of EOSIO chains working together to help people realize all that they can gain by buying into this technological and social revolution. I see a time in the not-at-all-distant-future when people view EOS, Telos, and some of the other early chains as just different sections of the same juicy orange.

I expect that the relationship between Telos and Block.One will grow and improve over time. We are aligned in far more ways than what divides us. B1 will have an account on Telos and certainly has the means to increase their position if they choose. But there was never any good rationale for giving them 10% of the new chain.

Thanks for your response. I am hoping for Telos's success and believe it will happen. "Alligned incentives" is a phrase used a lot in the EOSverse, and I hope B1 has just the right amount of this for them to maximise their contribution to Telos's success.

Pros and Cons man. The perspective is subjectively different for those who have been hacked or interacted with malicious users/contract than for those that haven't. The process isn't great right now, but it's still a step in a good direction. voting once a week would remove the decay probelem. Yes if you have a proxy, you still have to delegate to the proxy each week (ideally) if you can. once a month would be around 4% decay by week 4 end.

well using a decentralized blockchain with dapps that are distributed through centralized stores like app store and play store seems like a crutch. you can sideload apps, true, but blockchain ought to disrupt everything and something like a dappstore on the eos blockchain seems like the next logical thing. Recent attempts of the Australian government show how big companies get pressured to implement backdoors into their hardware. An open sourced phone assembled and distributed through a web of trust might be the next evolution of blockchain technology. small companies could produce single parts, similar to franchises, assemblage would happen by other branches and others could take care of delivery. All logistics could be outsourced to the blockchain.

BPs should have rules to follow to maintain a healthy blockchain. Their performance should be monitored at all times and being able to black list them if needed. Useless nodes are unacceptable!

Yes. I'd be exhilarated to see the existence of authenticated open source hardware with no backdoors. What you describe would be very good strides in the right direction. Many small companies producing single parts offers a large surface area for attackers to find a weak link though. Unless we can find a way to verify what's built, which really is the crux.

It's not a fork of EOS as in chain split, it uses the EOS snapshot so it's another public EOS chain a new version of it.

If you review Apple's guidelines, they have very strict limitations on what is allowed on the appstore, so that may be causing the delay as block one figures out what features they can and cannot include 🤔

Well as far as I know, Cypherglass is the only "block producer" promoting closed source dapp (they are not actually producing blocks right now so it's a bit of a misnomer)

1) block producers are voted in and out all the time, and some of the "real block producers" as you would seem to define them are actually exchange accounts that really do nothing else positive for the community (other than produce blocks); 2) both Chintai and EOSBet also started as closed source, only going open source later, so your argument against another dapp being closed source seems to only apply to *how long* they've been closed source, not whether or not they will go open source going forward; saying 2 weeks is an acceptable time, but 2 months is not is completely arbitrary; 3) why shouldn't he be laughing on the way to the bank... as EOS holders, we all are, and Cypherglass is helping the community to be even more successful through their active participation and promotion of new projects, in addition to producing blocks when they are voted in, so hats off to them. But I have seen him promoting Betdice multiple times on twitter and telegram even though he does not gamble, why? Because he bought presell. Is he suggesting good investment? No collapse, token holders are receiving hourly dividends. They have much less risk than most other gambling dapps. You should worry about your non-transferable BET more. TBH, attacking DICE is not going to save your BET. If BET is good enough, people will come back to play. Healthy competition is important to bring the best teams to EOS community. Being salty does not.

I see your point here, but to Rob's credit, from what I've seen on tg and their youtube videos, he always discloses when he has (or has not) invested in a project, along with the usual disclaimers. I know it's a tough line to walk in terms of credibility, but we have to remember that block producers are enthusiastic supporters and investors of EOS just like the rest of us, so we shouldn't expect them to be detached completely from every dapp that comes out...

The dividends are only flowing because people are 'mining them' and selling. So they are attracted to dividends which are high because others are mining. When everyone is dilluted. The mining will stop and the dividends will tank, along with the price. Anyone buying at these prices will get rekt.

I’d rather have a full fledged sideloaded hw wallet than a stripped down apple approved one. We will see, but that is the problem with apple and google, EOS won’t be able to unfold its full potential in their stores threatening their dominance

Yes, there are a few. There are still some limitations using a ledger though, not all actions are possible. For example, transactions changing account permissions aren't supported quite yet when signing via a ledger. Consider how you want to arrange your accounts and owner/active keys. Wallets include scatter desktop, bloks.io desktop, fairy wallet.

What you need is to prove to the world that you own your new EOS account. You can only do that with the right EOS private key. In order to get your EOS private key (as you didnt register properly) you need to provide your ETH private key, otherwise there's no link between your current erc20 tokens. And yea, in order to get that private key from the Ledger (which is not made to ever show you the private key) you will need the 24 seed words and enter it into a tool that uses the same algorithm as the ledger to generate your private keys.

you need to download scatter (and import your private key) if you want to **do** anything with your account. if you just want to **see** your account details, just search for your eos public key on e.g. bloks.io and thats it
