eos will never rise if the bp's are getting payed in the eos token. They should be payed in a stable coin so that they don't have to cashout there eos to maintain the cost of there infrastructure and gain more power to vote.

If the eos blockchain pays them, then it's a cost either way you do it. It's still an expense which has to be paid.

So you have received an airdrop within the last two months. But there have been some which you're aware of which you've not received, but you don't know what they're called? I suspect if you find out what they were, and look at the requirements you'll see that you didn't meet them.

right now inflation in eos is needed to pay the bp's and maybe fund worker proposal. So if you replace the payment to the bp's with a stable coin which derives its vaulue from something else (e.g. ecash) the eos token will not have to be inflated and the properties of the stable coin doenst have voting rights,cpu,net,storage. This make the eos token more powerful

Since compromised accounts are still a major problem and source of concern, how about eliminating the requirements for BPs to freeze accounts by simply offering protections for only staked tokens? With this solution, the time it takes to unstake accounts will be automatically increased by 72 hours when a complainant meets various criteria that include: 0. Owner receives an alert that a staked account has been unstaked by an unauthorized entity; (1st 72 hours) 1. Owner provides evidence of a prior relationship with the account. This could be an electronic message that links the account to the owner. An example is the first alert sent to an email controlled by a claimant when the account was not in dispute; (another 72 hours) 2. Providing evidence of access to or control of the private key; (another 72 hours) 3. Providing a biometric information to support the complaint; (another 72 hours) 4. Accepting the terms of identification for any harm resulting from the delays; (another 72 hours) 5. Engaging in and completing a process that will lead to the identification of all claimants; (another 72 hours) 6. When all claimants are identified they may agree on the terms for a bond-backed increase in the time it takes to unstake accounts. Alternatively, bonds for time increments will be determined by the value of the account. An account worth 1000 EOS may have the unstaking period increased consecutively with a continuous deposit of 1 EOS. 10,000 may require10 EOS and 100,000 EOS, 100 EOS. The deposits will only be released to a proxy based on predetermined terms when the dispute is resolved to the satisfaction of x or y forum.

the ram used to create your account, you will not be able to get back... But as for the staked EOS, you could just have someone else delegate you a little bit of CPU and NET, then you unstake your own and get rid of it if you must

Hello there and welcome to EOS! When transferring from an exchange to your account, your "address" is simply your 12 character EOS account name. You can and you should change your private keys once you are comfortable with the process, it is very easy to do. Owner and active should be separate keys for added security. I have my account set up like this: I use a alarm bot to notify me of any activity on my account name. @EOSAlarmEBot Owner permission has a private key / Public key (cold storage, paperwallet, safety deposit box buried 6 feet deep) Active permission has a separate keypair (used for everyday activities connecting to dapps etc etc) If my everyday activities (ACTIVE keys) ever get me in trouble and my keys are compromised, I can dig up my owner keys and "change the locks" on my active permission. (https://eostoolkit.io/account/permissions) If you have your tokens STAKED then you have the added security of 3 days (72 hours) to change your keys before a hacker can move your tokens off your account.

You can stake and vote, but you can't use dapps like chintai. On Nov 6th a new EOS ledger app will be available though that will allow you to use dapps. So if you haven't set it up I would wait till after Nov 6th

Hey guys! I have the following question. Back in summer just before the move to main net I have sent some EOS (which was then ERC token) to an Exchange address. These token have never been moved to main net and so far I have effectively lost them. The exchange has told me that I should go EOS Core Arbitration forum and that the exchange would support the process by signing messages with the address that created the contract to prove ownership if needed. However if I go to FAQ of ECAF it says that they don’t accept claims related to EOS ERC20 crowdsale tokens. Can anyone advise what should my next step be? Thank you in advance!

was at eglx toronto a while ago. talked to the guy at the booth manning skyweaver — a game on the blockchain built on top of ethereum. im still puzzled why they chose eth knowing full well its limitations especially the 15 tps issue. im not a blockchain developer so im not sure of the disadvantages but he said their solution is to store transactions first on their servers then pass them in batches over to the main chain. he didnt say clearly how many transactions they would pass as one and what data it contains. sounds to me like just a normal game capitalizing on the popularity of blockchains

FAKE EOS TOKENS The block producers must look into the naming of tokens allowed on the EOS blockchain to prevent scammers from ripping off EOS holders. It is not reasonable to allow multiple tokens to have identical acronyms. See below, these are just a few of the tokens named "EOS". What the fuck! There are going to be many, many complaints from people mistaking tokens sharing the same acronism and losing hundreds or thousands of "EOS" / dollars. This issue can be dealt with now, or after the complaints start rolling in.

On this Exodus "breach," can someone explain whether this is possible for basically any centralized "wallet" (or exchange holding our EOS) do do? Or is it specific to Exodus? The video mentions the fact that they have access to our Active/Owner keys, but those are also (publicly) visible on block explorers (at Active keys at least)... so that tells me that Exodus had access to both Private+Active/Owner keys in order to unstake EOS from its accounts... is this correct? well, you need to put in your private keys to exodus to use it but we are assuming that the exodus team does not have access to it rather that it is 'stored' in the interface and not able to be accessed by the exodus team. This is I think how most wallets or interfaces work such as scatter or greymass.

if you registered the eos address you sent your tokens from, im fairly sure all you need to do now is download an eos wallet and use your keys you got at the time of registration..

You can change the key(s) of your existing eos account to your ledger's public key(s). So you don't need a new account. At the moment there are limits to functionality with the ledger, but that is due to improve significantly in about a week, I understand.

By using Exdous you have to completely trust the devs, they have access to all your private keys within their software on your machine. THey could just as easily setup a macro to send your btc

Yeah you created it for sure. Just make sure you have the latest version and set it up again. Be extra careful when inputting private keys, as it's when we are most vulnerable to attack. I prefer scatter desktop and eostoolkit.io myself but to each their own.

Why is it done automatically? Shouldn't it be a one-click button or something instead? How is it OK to automatically sign a transaction with someone's private key and broadcast it to the network without their explicit consent? Furthermore, an account with unstaked tokens is significantly more vulnerable if someone's not knowledgeable enough to keep their system secure. It was done for convenience, this was the wrong implementation for some users and we are learning an unstaking button might have been a better choice. The second half of the staked balance being more secure for someone who does not know how to use EOSvoter, scatter, toolkit, simple etc. argument is, it does not matter at all to thousands of people who want liquid access to their EOS. It might be hard to believe that they do not care about EOS and the only reason they bought in was for investment purposes from a hyped ICO. They did not know who B1 was, have no clue what a blockproducer is, or even what an ERC20 token contract is and why someone had access to freeze any of their tokens. Anybody who develops EOS here knows how complex the process of adding it to Exodus was. We knew we would learn a lot because it has not been done before where a wallet with frozen ERC20 balances added mainnet support.

OK. I understand about and am fully aware of people buying and not caring/knowing about eos. And I understand how hard it is to get the balance right when your aim is to make a general purpose wallet with a focus on ease of use (is that what Exodus is?). I imagine the question, "do we need another button to complicate the UI, which many users won't even understand?" came up. But I'm still firmly of the opinion that a button for unstaking would've been better. People have been freaked out when they've seen their tokens being unstaked, unaware that it was their exodus wallet which did it. Having said that, it's up to the Exodus team how they implement things. This is my opinion, but I'm not even a user (although I do have it installed from when I was testing something).

It was seamless for registered, Fallback and unregistered. The responses we have been getting are overwhelmingly positive. Concerned voices as such in this channel have been very few because a majority of the users did not have the friction of already claiming their mainnet tokens in another wallet and managing their own stake. We are literally talking about tens of thousands of user here. Hopefully, some of them will actually stick with EOS as we introduce more features.
