I know what's to lose here. Could be about giving up identity/privacy. 😉 That's something heavy. Giving up privacy for some financial gains is a good deal specially for struggling rational individuals which the world has no scarcity of. Being a youtuber for instance requires that.

I’m not clear what you’re asking but I think worrying about tiny attack vectors is probably overdoing it for most people. You’re more likely to forget your password than get hacked in the 3 seconds your encrypted drive was in an internet connected device.
