I acknowledge that some devs may have bought RAM for their dapps. A dev not always needs to be a good trader. He just wanted to secure some ram for his project so I’m not sure how to go about this but I don’t think that B1 could bail out anyone. It’s not FED

The people who paid a high price for ram for their projects also benefited from first mover advantage. Paying $25 for a 12 letter name was a very expensive decision for some people in the beginning, but those who moved first got the best most wanted account names, so it's a trade off in value. accounts are much more affordable now but most of the great names are taken.

But so really how much RAM does a dApp need? Obviously this becomes less if they use vRAM. Will be very interesting to see how much RAM a DSP needs to perform same actions via vRAM normally all done in RAM - from what I have seen, an airdrop to all accounts requires ~8x less RAM if using vRAM functionality.

Telos side-chain is doing a great job maintaining a low RAM price. Also, Telos BPs are paid via a decreasing inflation tiered model. We are currently in our initial tier of 4% inflation and the inflation % is set to gradually decrease to only 2.5% within the year.

That is the free market solution to find the proper price of RAM. We don't need to do anything, the price is free to move up and down based on supply and demand. Speculation is always risky. I'm very very sorry to hear that you were caugfht off gaurd and are left holding a big bag of RAM, but you have to live with that decision now. I suggest you make a decision as to what you are going to do with the remaining RAM and move on bud.

Yeah masternodes help - though the operators of those nodes aren't exactly optimizing those for performance (like many do here on EOS). They aren't incentivized really to do so, and many farm out the masternode operations to larger outfits for a cut/monthly fee. If/when the reliance moves from POW to the MNs themselves, it'd be interesting to see what sort of consistent throughput they'd actually provide.

Kent has the challenge dac which is live on Apple store. Soon coming to Android. They are currently making updates to different kinds of challenges. Challengedapp.io. He has interviewed people who have had thousands of EOS stolen and educated on the way these hackers stole the EOS. He started a fund to help these people get some reimbursement for their loss. He has said he will put a large portion of his block producer rewards in this fund. He's also building something else to help the community. I can't recall what it is. (I'll get back to you on that). It was stable for years but like all stable coins backed by alternative collateral there are extreme markets that can result in losses.

Correct, Bit.usd is a stablecoin the only issue is the extreme market movements. The only way to create a real stable coin is using some sort of gateway that will tie fiat directly to a coin, similar to what bankers want to do/are doing (jpmorgan)

BM shared the <“False Top-up” Attack on EOS [Update]>by Slow Mist in the telegraph group and believes that accounts accounts involved in such an attack should be black listed. BM says that if he was in charge of a chain he would ban anyone who intentionally attempted to defraud others. At the same time, he also responded to questions about whether the blacklist system is not a cure for the problem: "There is a cost per account. We do have bft safe black listening. It’s called s changing key." He proposed that the exchange should implement the following security measures: 1.All first time deposit from an eos account should have a 3 day hold. 2.An eos account should be permanently linked to an exchange internal account by default. 3.And any account which has changed owner permissions in past week should also be subject to hold. 4.And any account which has changed owner permissions in past week should also be subject to hold. 5.Based on usage patterns, data driven by chain.

It's the whole limited blocksize + random block times that makes things hard.

They do testing with very large blocks and have instant send, instant confirmation. They can do the cash use case IMO, it's just whether a single token cash use case is going to still be relevant in the crypto economy. They are also doing things like short names, want to be PayPal. Anyway...

Hello, when I try to vote with EOS authority and scatter, I get an error stating transaction declares authority '{"actor":"gy3dcnbygene","permission":"active"}', but does not have signatures for it under a provided delay of 0 ms, provided permissions [], provided keys. Able to add this account to scatter with my private key and don't really know what the issue is. Was able to stake tokens during summer after the go-live and have not really done anything since then.

Sure it is, but the question to ask is why? Think about it. The only thing you can do actually with the dai is use it to edge your position in exchanges when the market is bear. This is also what you can do with xxUSDs like paxos, trustUSD, etc. But with them, at least you have a secondary usage, the capacity to convert them for current currency. Something you can use to pay your bills. So it means basically edging with a useless coin or with a coin which at least can hep you pay your bills if needed.

OK, for marketplace, how merchant will pay their bill? Most of them use their local currency like USD, EURO, etc. Maybe in a future when crypto will be king. But today, too soon for a stablecoin like dai for e-commerce. At least for the mainstream merchants. Unless, they take USD, EURO as collateral. But using other crypto as collateral is not for e-commerce but for speculation

Hi Syed, thanks for replying. It's weird thing - seem to have 2 publik keys linked to 1 private key. 1st public key is the "EOS Token Distribution Claim Key" and 2nd the actual eos public key, but I don't remember getting a new private key when registering EOS as part of the launch

use that private key to import into scatter and everything should be fine. If this is your genesis private key you should import it into scatter then change both your permissions to new keys so you can keep your genesis private key safe and offline for claiming new chains in the future that chose to use the gensis snapshot.
