Iota can send transactions according to its protocol. I.e. it's working. It wasn't smooth a year ago, but is now. Still has a coordinator in place. Has a fair amount of regulatory legitimacy in comparison to most projects, too. You don't get stiftung status easily. Eos has been having some issues with regulators (or at least so Dan Larimer implies). Iota is well placed in that regard. They have some issues with leadership and communication, IMO. All in all, it's relatively unique tech (as is eos IMO) and could be big if they pull it all off.

Point taken. But that affects what b1 can bring to the eosio network. Iota will eventually remove the coordinator, and depending on how they manage it, it could be the most decentralised currency around. Anyway, my point is, it is working within its constraints. And it's not a direct competitor to eos even if they pull qubic off, so I don't see the need for sensitivity.

It trying to be an ass. Genuine question. How can one make practical use of a DAG for tracking ownership and reporting it to users and contracts if there is no single source of truth like a shared ledger. I get how the tx could work, but an Explorer escapes me

Post coordicide there may be a distributed shared ledger using 'stars' (the word they use I think). Actually not dissimilar to eos. That was one of many options they presented. They may or may not pull it off. Just like eos may or may not produce Steem 2.0. But just like eos it's a unique project in a space crowded with clones which may or may not manage to achieve its aims.

I am not trying to argue but I want to add some additional color, EOS governance didn’t fail. The failure belonged to those attempting to add additional layers of governance on paper and consider it as equally weighted as the token-holder stake-weighted vote and the BP approval msig. It was a mismanagement of expectations, a highly publicized experiment that improperly placed itself on the same plane with protocol governance. Otherwise, the governance is working as designed, a direct line of accountability can be drawn from the validators to the stakeholders.

At this early stage, the people who choose to take a chance with EOS, should of course, be mindful of all the risks. However, in the long term, mass adoption simply can not happen if the average person (grandma) to take this much responsibility with their assets as Dan has pointed out a long time ago .

Even the most advanced companies with the best security engineers are still hacked. We should just stop talking about eos allows the protection of property and liberty than. We are talking about cases where accounts being hacked and BPs could have freeze the account but refused to do so even they agree that the account was really hacked.

So the BP's then have to take it upon themselves to blacklist an account? If they fail to they get sued. If they blacklist an innocent account they get sued. The whole blacklisting and ECAF thing is a giant legal liability for everyone involved with EOS. Kill it all off and each person takes responsibility for their own private keys.

The trx that schedules the deferred trx can only check if it was scheduled correctly. The deferred trx itself does not go through the proper checks until it is executed.

All that needs to be done on that front is build a new Fresco city. The upfront and ongoing cost will blow every city out of the water and few businesses would be able to compete with businesses operating with such low overhead. Then people will notice services and emergency services arrive in a fraction of the time, which could easily mean adding decades to their life expectancy. Far far easier to do the build out when people value their life more than having gingerbread homes.

But better. Venus project cities are more about a set of tools and goals, than any particular design element. Venus project (a company that advocates rbe) calls rbe an emergent system, but I have yet to see any evidence of a system they would utilize that I consider emergent. I do however, see great promise in noomap, and think its structures enable building truly emergent systems.... pretty much take rbe, then design what happens when and arguement breaks out between scientists.

I think rewards is a better approach to just airdropping. The tokens are much more valuable to the holder when they are earned. The EOS community is just expecting air drops and free money. Although UBI is a great idea, contributionism and being rewarded for how much value you add to society is a better approach in my opinion.

💯 How you think this could be achieved? What steps is B1 taking in that direction? With free Bandwidth and RAM? URI could have done the same but I don't think community wants that on base layer.

One of the things I loved reading in your blog was your analysis of schemes and competing protocols. Do you or your team have any thoughts on the DAPP network's vRAM solution that was recently launched? It provides off chain storage of data that can be used and verified by smart contracts. DAPP network would seem to have promise as an incentive layer for infrastructure services.
