Ok. Where/how have you kept your private key? I'm asking so that I know if it's already been on an online machine, or whether you've gone to lengths to ensure it's kept away from any kind of network. Don't tell me if it'll give away too much private information. There are approaches which are more secure such as key management using an offline, airgapped computer. They are more complicated, and I suppose generally considered unnecessary unless you're dealing with a critically large amount tokens. An example of what most people would do is to download scatter desktop (sort of a wallet, and more). Then import your private key into it by pasting it. Then you can use your eos account. There are lots of functions you can do inside scatter, but it can also be used with loads and loads of websites/ dapps. The usual candidates for account management are ones like bloks.io and eostoolkit.io. People will send transactions to your account with memos which you can see in block explorers - these messages can often be scams, so never trust them without checking things out thoroughly. There's the scatter telegram group here @scatter. You can download it at https://get-scatter.com You should check the website I just gave elsewhere too before trusting me.

Ok. Where/how have you kept your private key? I'm asking so that I know if it's already been on an online machine, or whether you've gone to lengths to ensure it's kept away from any kind of network. Don't tell me if it'll give away too much private information. There are approaches which are more secure such as key management using an offline, airgapped computer. They are more complicated, and I suppose generally considered unnecessary unless you're dealing with a critically large amount of tokens. An example of what most people would do is to download scatter desktop (sort of a wallet, and more). Then import your private key into it by pasting it. Then you can use your eos account. There are lots of functions you can do inside scatter, but it can also be used with loads and loads of websites/ dapps. The usual candidates for account management are ones like bloks.io and eostoolkit.io. People will send transactions to your account with memos which you can see in block explorers - these messages can often be scams, so never trust them without checking things out thoroughly. There's the scatter telegram group here @scatter. You can download it at https://get-scatter.com You should check the website I just gave elsewhere too before trusting me.

I think it is going to be an accounting nightmare for the EOS token holder, if we keep generating new tokens with each chain. I think you have to make EOS the standard token, but would have to find some way to limit the EOS token supply generated by the inflation of each chain, but maybe that is where separate token would be better...just sounds like a nightmare to deal with.

agreed that variety or the sake of variety is pointless, but as the last 9 months have proven, there is a lot of variety of views on gov. competition between gov models, as opposed to debates within models, turns our greatest challenge into a strength. free competition between gov models will evolve winners. much of this seems to b alluded to before by Dan and others; what appears to b new to me is the idea that private centralized chains can b considered a healthy part of the ecosystem by making them compete in a highly liquid environ. this seems to draw the power centers out of the hands of individual bps and whales, or in some cases those who r both, by raising decentralization to the next level of abstraction, ibc.

I think it is going to be an accounting nightmare for the EOS token holder, if we keep generating new tokens with each chain. I think you have to make EOS the standard token, but would have to find some way to limit the EOS token supply generated by the inflation of each chain, but maybe that is where separate token would be better...just sounds like a nightmare to deal with.

I am not trying to argue but I want to add some additional color, EOS governance didn’t fail. The failure belonged to those attempting to add additional layers of governance on paper and consider it as equally weighted as the token-holder stake-weighted vote and the BP approval msig. It was a mismanagement of expectations, a highly publicized experiment that improperly placed itself on the same plane with protocol governance. Otherwise, the governance is working as designed, a direct line of accountability can be drawn from the validators to the stakeholders.

Disagree... there is a need for privacy controls which can facilitate kyc requirements where needed.. it's up to the individual to authorize their Id verification to whatever entity.. there are some neat projects out now with zero knowledge proofs that might do the trick.. persona.me comes to mind.. recently released.. based on arc.

My opinion on peos is that we dont need really a free market token for privacy at this stage. If you want to make a private transaction, you would do eos --> peos -->> xfer peos --> convert back into eos. And you would lose value due to lack of liquidity. The whole thing would work much better if it was a service that does the above automatically in a single transfer for a very small fee. The current system doesnt really work due to lack of liquidity and potentially extreme volatility. There is no logical reason to hold peos tokens apart from a pure gamble on the price.
