Despite the awsome technology that EOS (and others) present, I attribute the current price slide purely to Bitcoin. What we are seeing is millions of panic stricken BTC speculators dumping it as they see the price fall and this fuels more panic and therfore more selling. The problem is the almost universal perception that Bitcoin is the daddy of all crypto so if BTC plunges then all the alts follow suit hence the current slide. This means that for the alts (and therefore EOS ) to gain value, BTC has to go up but for this to happen, people have to see value in BTC and I cannot see that there is any value. The justification given by BTC fans is that it represents a general value store (much like gold) based on the world likely to migrate from fiat to digital currency thus attracting a herd of gullible followers who buy into this BS. The fact is that BTC is an out of date, expensive, environmentally destructive and extremely slow technology and prehistoric compared to cryptos like EOS. And with the price being so volatile who would choose to continue using it as a digital payment means ? If this true then BTC will continue to lead the crypto market down. So what's the solution ? - and here I will focus on EOS. I say that EOS must shake off the notion that BTC is its big daddy of crypto and market itself an ALTERNATIVE to BTC in the sense that it's use as a digital currency is only a small function of its overall offering and that's it's main function is to serve as a world class operating system for the development of corporate, industrial (or personal) apps that offers the benefits of no hardware expenses (and generally very little expense) as well as the excellent security that comes with block chain technology. Once EOSIO is recognized as a crypto that offers huge technological benefits to the world, then the price of the EOS token will grow exponentially. I would appreciate other people's take on the above and Dan Larimer I hope you are reading this 😃

i dont see blockchain is really solving these issues, if you store messages on a centralized server you have to trust them as well, sure you have your private key but when current encryption will be broken he has all your data

I’m not happy that chintai gives you no option regarding using their proxy

You can use BankofStaked for cpu if you don’t like it and not use Chintai. We would love to have a no proxy option but the design of eosio means that would require an entire other account and smart contract and highly complex management somehow to avoid splitting the markets in half. EOS42 as the BP who built and maintain Chintai, have very limited revenue right no, certainly we cannot develop that out just for a nice to have. I hope you like the choices the Chintai Proxy makes and we welcome feedback as the managers (not ourselves) add more BPs onto it with the aim of the best interests of the community.

Chintai is different because they are not sharing their Block rewards and they are actually providing a much needed service to the community. Also, chintai are actively looking at changing their system. Their plan is actually to be able to vote for the bps you want with your leased Eos.

StartEOS is running a second node - games.eos (maybe eosuest.io as well) and voting the node using proxy. Chintai is trying to be open about the BPs selection process and is up for public scrutiny. (but the foundation of both the proxy is similar)
