This is HUGE news and allows big money traditional investors with access to bitcoin trading using traditional investment accounts.

IMO opinion the biggest problem with Everipedia right now is there is not a lot of incentives to buy the IQ token. You only need to buy if you want to edit articles or to vote on which articles to approve. However, if you edit pages, you will be rewarded lots of iq tokens. Seems like there will be a lot of selling pressure and not a lot of reasons to buy except to speculate that it will go higher.

No one knows ;) but the set up IS happening. People with the most money do not trade on unregulated crypto exchanges. They use traditional investment accounts to do so. Once this becomes available to the average Joe (and big time investors), this takes numbers to other levels. It will take time, but it is about to happen - certainly 2019 at latest based on what i hear.

Hi everyone, I just found out about this whole mainnet registration, even though I haven’t done any registration and just stored ERC20 tokens in my MEW wallet, eosauthority.com shows that I apparently have a public key and account name associated. Clearly, I have no EOS private key from that, but I have full access to my MEW wallet where all is stored. How can I restore the tokens?

you can't just slap "private" on a blockchain and easily make it private. it's very, very complicated science to get that right, and existing currency blockchains are already struggling doing that properly. but doing that on with a generic smart contract approach is insanely hard. enigma i guess tries to do that, so if you really need that tool maybe they can eventually fulfill that need. but like everything it's about making compromises and there will be downside(s) to supporting private data.

I wouldn't use eos to trade or sell. I'd use it to stake and play, or rent and earn to buy more privacy coins. ;) Tequila is correct though, eos is about transparency. Any privacy will probably be handled on a dapp

Air Grabs are where people if they want the tokens can pay the minimal cost tio grab them instead, relieving the dapp developers from the cost to airdrop which can be significant to one person or a small group of developers.

Well, there is a chance that you may already be compromised, however that risk is small. You can take precautions and change your keypair anytime you want on an airgapped offline system for extra security but I have a feeling you are in virtually a no risk zone already and you should be fine, however you might want to gain control of your account in case you need to act on something for staking rewards soon.

i'm just trying to say that if you wanted you could generate a new eth address, enter the ledger seed words in myetherwallet and get access to the address and then send your tokens to a new address, effectively emptying your ledger

You can access the wallet without the ledger. You don't need another ledger to do that. You should change your EOS private keys if you left instructions to access greymass

hi, I had 50 t0kens in meta mask for the mainnet snap shot received a new genesis account name.Thenwaited a couple of weeks and then opened a scatter account.Since then the genesis account name has changed by one letter. the account only shows 16 staked and 10 liquid TOKENS and i never staked anything. now i opened a greymass account with the slightly changed account name and it shows 50 tokens 40 staked and 10 liquid and my meta mask wallet where the snapshot took place vanished off my computer .Eosflare agrees with the scatter account but greymass agrees with me I had 50 tokens in the snapshot. Have I got reason for concern here and who do I see.

as long as your owner keys are safe, you can access the netywork using the active permissions and never worry about losing your staked tokens. You have 3 days to change permissions. I'd trust that a lot more than I would trust a btc address. ;)

Scatter's RIDL token is trying to help with that by allowing people to give reputation (and downvotes) to certain services. And then everytime someone tries to make a transaction on any of those websites or smart contracts scatter can show a big warning. Not ready yet, but that is the plan.
