useless no, more expensive than free? yes. Less expensive than Ethereum? yes. Faster and better and safer than everything else? yes. All that other stuff is hyperbole basically. This is an experiment. You either want to be a part of it, or you don't. I'm sticking around because I know the future looks good here.

We have a LOT of dapps already launched and successfully running on eos. The ram price is way lower now than the ram rush on july 3rd, so it's not even a problem. Ram shouldn't be free so we used a free market solution to find the right price, that's totally cool with me.

It's early, so yes; developers will simply have to pay for functional decentralized technology until the cost issue is resolved. My money is on the cost issue being resolved prior to Ethereum scalability or the general public being willing to pay per transaction.

Again, it would be stupid for a dev to create a dapp where the cost of operations falls back on the dev. Like my analogy earlier - If you send a letter, you pay for the stamp. EOS holders would use their own EOS as a resource.

This user's response to the OP also supports what we are explaining - "This is a gross misunderstanding of who pays what. Unless the dapp itself is doing transactions by itself, then it isn't paying the CPU/NET costs; each individual user is. There is an issue here ( that it would cost a lot to do 1 transaction per minute for 24 hours for each user ), but this post brings it to the wrong side of the app and extrapolates the problem incorrectly. It comes down to how many hours a user uses apps, and how many transactions they do within that timeframe."

EOS is scalable and is already performing more efficiently than any other blockchain, according to bloktivity. So not it's not just 'cheaper', it's just built better overall. A dapp such as the one the OP describes would be WAY more expensive and slower if they were to use ETH as the blockchain to run it on.

Actually it wouldn't matter what blockchain it was on. A dapp like OP describes would just be a great way for a dev to lose money until they can't afford the dapp anymore, in turn killing the dapp. It's just a moronic approach to implmentation.

I wouldn’t say there is one that is the best... Offline wallets that are community approved and safe are: Greymass & SimplEOS. Online web wallets are myeoskit and EOSToolkit.io which uses Scatter.

EOS is a staking coin. The incentive to "day trade" isn't that great, rather the incentive is to stake. There will be rewards for staking, and incentives to move coins OFF the exchanges for EOS. If you want to day trade, pick a different token.

it's worth mentioning that manually registering using airdrops us used by projects to save a lot of money. if you register using a smart contract action ("airgrab") then you store 0 of that token balance in your account which will use a bit of your ram right away. then the project can send tokens to everyone for free and they dont have to temporarily use their own ram to store everyone's token balances

hard to say if slow load for you is because of eos network or the website. normally the site is super snappy for me. transaction per second has nothing to do with how the website performs in this case by the way to clarify that.

Staking is for using the network, i.e. sending transactions. Those could be sending tokens or using dapps like a decentralized twitter or facebook or playing a blockchain based game. It also used for voting. Only staked tokens count towards your voting power. Because unstaking the tokens takes 72 hours to complete it can also be used as a security measure. If you have two different keypairs on your eos account and your active key ever gets stolen and you notice your coins get unstaked then you can quickly change the active key using your owner key (which you should keep offline if possible) and lock the thiefs out and then undo their unstaking again. https://www.eoscanada.com/en/what-does-staking-and-unstaking-eos-tokens-mean

Even accounts created by a smart contract have a creator. Most Block Explorers just cannot show it because they don't show it if the account was created through an inline action.

More EOS drops 😎 The WORBLI Billion Token Airdrop will be taking place after our network launch on the 14th September to all EOS mainnet token holders. EOS Token holders will recieve 1 WORBLI (WBI token for every EOS token they hold (1000 EOS = 1000 WBI).
