It only goes down if you explicitly delete your data that you have stored in there via a smart contract. Depending on the dapp (smart contract) you use they can all have their own rules if they use RAM, how much they use and if they delete some unneeded data automatically or need you to delete it. Or they might be bad and not allow you to delete your data created with them.

tps is just one of many factors of what make a good blockchain by the way. dont get too focused on numbers like that. sure it's important. but again not all transactions are equal. simpler transactions are much easier to send thousands of a second.

An account's ram is only allowed to be used by a transaction if it's signed by that account's private key. That's why when someone airdrops you tokens you don't own yet, they have to use their own RAM first to store the token balance for you. Otherwise people could spam you with new tokens and fill up all your RAM for example.

Yes, and things are being done to clean this issue up - EOS Watchdogs is a good initiative. But I feel it should be impossible for these dodgy BPs to be voted in, not up to voters to vote them out (or vote others in in their place)

Staking is for using the network, i.e. sending transactions. Those could be sending tokens or using dapps like a decentralized twitter or facebook or playing a blockchain based game. It also used for voting. Only staked tokens count towards your voting power. Because unstaking the tokens takes 72 hours to complete it can also be used as a security measure. If you have two different keypairs on your eos account and your active key ever gets stolen and you notice your coins get unstaked then you can quickly change the active key using your owner key (which you should keep offline if possible) and lock the thiefs out and then undo their unstaking again. In the future it is planned that you can also lend your staked tokens for someone else for 30 days to get paid rental fees. This will most likely be implemented in the next couple of months.

ℹ️ Unlike other cryptos where you just have a keypair in EOS you have something called an account. An account is primarly a 12 character name. Associated with that are things like RAM and tokens. Per account you have two permissions: * owner (god mode, can change the locks on your house) * active (day to day use) Each of these permissions have an associated public key. If you have the private key for that then you can do any action that requires that permission. Right now all the mainnet genesis accounts use the same owner and active key for simplicity. But optimally you want a different public key for owner and for active. And then if your active key ever gets compromised from a hack or whatever you can simply change the key required for that active permission using the owner permission. So really in Scatter or any other wallet you would only ever enter the private key for the "active" permission. You keep the "owner" permission safe and offline. Then if you get phished you use the "owner" permission to change the "active" permission key and then the phishers have a useless private key.

At that time, the Bancor model still really only increased in price. Is it updated? I don't think this is the way to do a stablecoin. It means it's either artificially pegged (always fails hard eventually) or programmatically pegged(we'd need to understand the algo to form an opinion--but so would everyone. Where is it?) The best way to create a stable coin is pegging or tokenizing to a real world asset. It's the realy world asset pegging that matters more than the stability part. (Proof - a somewhat fluctuating coins pegged to, say NYC real estate through real tokenization would be far better than a totally stable $1 USD coin tokenizing an un-audited, unproven sum.)

Hello guys. Imagine situation when I need to save a big data In smart contract (for example 1000 000 000 row of information - or just 1 TB). In case of ETH it's almost impossible because gas price goes to hell. How is the situation in EOS? I know that concept of gas doesn't exist here, but here we have RAM limit that depends on our stake, more stake more limit. but how much stake will be enough? Is it common sense to save that much data it EOS smart contract? what's the solution?

Maybe it's possible someday in the future, but currently RAM is too expensive for that kind of smartcontract. The solution is to store only essential information in RAM and the rest has to be left on some other service. But there are plans to create IPFS-based datastorage on EOS, so that might help.

Yeah, there's inflationary coins being deposited into a fund so if they get burned (which is being proposed) the token price will shoot up so we're covered for the lost staking rewards that way so no worries there. If they're not burned, they'll add benefits and value in other areas. So don't you worry, this thing is going to moon whether we want it to or not.

exchanges don't actually trade tokens. You're just seeing numbers on a screen. The tokens don't become the real asset until you withdraw which is when that exchange is supposed to "make good" and send you the asset.

Hey to some of the smart EOS people in here (please don't answer if you are a noob lambo chasing idiot) serious question: I just heard ETH cofounder Lubin say that they have 1,100 employees spent over 100million on dev last year and that 1st layer needs to be completely decentralized (while EOS can be 2nd layer). Add in the huge network effect for ETH and should the question be not who will win - but rather how can ETH and EOS work together to form a bulletproof decentralized protocol together?
