Your genesis account was already created for you during the launch of mainnet. You can import your genesis private key into scatter and use that account to send your eos and any tokens to your ledger. KEEP your genesis keys for future airdrops and forks.

It's ok unless, for example, you fall for a scam like the ones where people have gone to a fake website and signed a transaction to change their owner key to one controlled by the scammer. Be careful what you sign. If you did make a mistake like this with your active key, you'd appreciate the benefit of having a different owner key.

Do you remember when you set up your ledger with scatter you had to choose an address index (you probably set it to 0)? You can iterate through the index to get any number of keys from your ledger. So you could leave your active key as the one from 0. Then you can get the public key from index 1, and set that as your owner public key.

That's the thing about current power structures. The common man isn't supposed to be able to do anything but obediently pay taxes and submit to the ruling class. Anything else is uncivilized. For anyone here who has ever tried to run their own business, they'll tell you that it's tough. It's like that by design. 90% of all start ups die in the first year or two because the system is designed to oppress innovation through decentralization, and reward the stagnation brought about by larger more centralized players who hold a monopoly over these industries.

I could hardly disagree with you more. I run my own business, make a small living, and am free to grow however I best see fit. Not only that, I'm in California. Regulations exist largely to protect people. Bureaucracy grows out of an inefficient system, and corrupt influences. But there is no illuminati holding the common man down collectively deciding who wins and loses in the U.S. . It's just easier to tell ghost stories than it is address how complicated and flawed the world is.

I'm not throwing "Illuminate" around, I'm saying that the average person can not start and run a successful business. Not because they aren't capable of doing that on their own, but precisely because of the regulations that are enforced on them by governments. So yeah, big brother turns most people into obedient tax payers instead because that seems to fit their system better. The regulations imposed are so inefficient and broad in their scope, that they stop protecting the little guy and they're catering more to larger centralized corporations now. You may be running a business, and you may be doing it by yourself, but there's no way you can say that it's easy to do that. It's HARD. I'm running a super small business myself, in Canada. It's anything BUT easy to do. What happens when the health inspector comes to visit your kitchen? The customers you have don't care about those regulations. They simply trust that the food and establishment is clean and that's why you get business and repeat business.. Not because you get a passing grade from some regulatory body. The regulations are all background noise to consumers.

Fair enough, and I don't check the certificates at the door when I go out to eat, I just judge based on my experience and move on. To each their own. I see the regulations more of a burden and easily replaceable with more efficient smart contracts. I'm not saying they shouldn't be in place, just more efficiently allocated.

You could set up notifications for when tokens are unstaked on your account. If you did not unstake your tokens then you know your account has been compromised. Without a notification you would have to check your account regularly to verify your tokens have not been unstaked.

I have my account set up like this: I use a alarm bot to notify me of any activity on my account name. @EOSAlarmEBot Owner permission has a private key / Public key (cold storage, paperwallet, safety deposit box buried 6 feet deep) Active permission has a separate keypair (used for everyday activities connecting to dapps etc etc) If my everyday activities (ACTIVE keys) ever get me in trouble and my keys are compromised, I can dig up my owner keys and "change the locks" on my active permission. (https://eostoolkit.io/account/permissions) If you have your tokens STAKED then you have the added security of 3 days (72 hours) to change your keys before a hacker can move your tokens off your account.

Myetherwallet to binance

MEW is for Ethereum. You need to access your eos account and send eos tokens on the eos blockchain. What does it say if you put your Ethereum address in at eosauthority.com? Did you register your Ethereum address with an eos public key? If so, you need to use your eos private key to access your account. If you didn't register you can probably put your Ethereum private key in a wallet (e.g. @scatter) and convert it to your eos private key. This will only work though if you're eligible for fallback, which will be mentioned when you put your Ethernet address in at eosauthority.com If you fit into neither of these scenarios you'll need to use the eosio.claim contract (I think that's what it's called), which you can do from eosauthority.com

Binance doesn't list PEOS as far as I am aware. Newdex is a great exchange for EOS tokens. Just log in with scatter, no KYC and a decent amount of volume for a newer exchange.

Anyone have any input as to why coinmarketcap doesn’t list eos airdropped tokens?

Tokens have to be listed on two CMC listed exchanges and then token teams need to apply. I don't think any of the EOS exchanges are listed on CMC, not sure if they've applied for listing or not. A bit of chicken/egg there as most of their pairs wouldn't be listed.
