"converting" to REX would not equate to selling your EOS tokens. you're just leasing them out. you would still own your EOS tokens, you maintain control of them, you're exposed to EOS price fluctuation, you can withdraw them any time (after maturity), etc. so it can't be a taxable event as you're suggesting, although i assume when you earn new EOS tokens via the REX, THAT would be taxable

Perhaps some do not want to vote REX in if turns out there is a flaw in the REX code....many reasons. i think the main bps have signed and rex has been tested enough to go live. we just need ask the BPs who have yet to sign off - "WHY HAVENT U SIGNED ?"

did you know ethereum will eventually offer staking.......but you will need at least 32 eth but with eos this no cap. plus staking on ethereum will take a significant amount of time to build....by which point EOS will have evolved far more significantly to god know what heights.

Can anyone explain why someone would use EOS over Ethereum for the global trade industry? Say if their goal is to automate a supply chain and reconcile segregated events on multiple blockchains, databases, APIs, etc., to one single blockchain? I ask because a platform called Morpheus Network allows the user to toggle between Ethereum and EOS when creating a smart contract. They basically have a choice of the two. Interested to hear some thoughts.

**Abstract**: An EOS-based decentralized application (dApp) may be operating on a blockchain but may also have centralized owner permission control over the token smart contract. A single key pair owner permission governing a token smart contract introduces security risks and attack vectors against the dApp the token contract supports. In order to reduce this threat, we propose that dApps have the ability to deploy their token through eosio.token, the system contract that issued the EOS token, and that can only be affected by 15/21 token-holder elected Block Producers. With efforts in education and additional UI elements, users can understand the difference between premium dApp tokens and dApp tokens that they must trust. Furthermore, similar to EOS short-names, a bidding system should be created within eosio.token to access this premium feature which can be marketed back to a dApp’s users. The tokens contributed to eosio.token for this access can be allocated toward EOS core development projects, similar to EOS42’s EOS Voter Bounties, through the eosio.forum referendum system and confirmed by 15/21 token-holder elected Block Producers. Maybe 15/21 + a key from the dapp, which could be unlocked by the community with their own processes, or their current key holder.. As of now, 15/21 could always step in a terminate or fix a contract, but would face the repercussions if out of line. That extra key would signal to the rest of eos that the dapp approved. Maybe they could do 14/21 + key or 15/21 with no key. Maybe scale it in, with same price throughout. New dapps have lower number of bps needed for approval so it doesn't require all bps attention if something goes awry, then scale it up once smoothed. Or maybe charge the dapp per time that community requests bp attention away from wider eos ecosystem.

When I origianly bought Eos in the ICO I sent them to my Exodus wallet & they were "Registered" but I have never had an Eos account outside of my Exodus Wallet. The Eos Private Key is stored within Exodus but I can access it to move my tokens but with Simple eos I think I would need to send my Private Key but if there's a way to open an Eos account without sending my private key then that would be preferable. 👍

search for your eos public key on e.g. bloks.io, does it bring up an eos account? i assume so. that is your 12 character eos account name. you can see your tokens and airdropped tokens there too.

then simply download Scatter and import your eos private key (starts with `5...`) there and it will import the associated eos account so you can start using it.

We will have a BP Round Table be created and led by an inaugural group of BPs. To be more specific: many contract currently work by listening to incoming EOS tokens transfers. these contracts usually need to exclude system contracts transfers in order not to reject (by mistake) operations like CPU unstaking. the REX mechanism adds another exclusion to this list, but existing contracts may not be ready for this change. This issue was addressed and we were reviewing it."

hello all... investigating EOS dApp development here as well as ETH development. i am digging that EOS is C++ based and already has a .NET integration library for my development tastes. 🤓 i've got a question for the community here... my dApp idea involves selling something for free, but it's meant to only be taken one at a time, in ETH this is easy to circumvent as each purchase requires gas. i am looking for a good equivalent in EOS that doesn't involve charging money. it's sorta catchy to say "it's free, just pay for gas." thank you in advance for any assistance with my query here.
