How do you even reach people who are so consumed with bringing food to the table that they can't log onto the internet?

I live in the poorest district in my country and majority have Internet access. Those who don't still uses android phones. People in third world countries usually leapfrog next gen tech adoption. TenX for example is already started enabling crypto-based cards that you can use to grocery shopping in part of Africa.

I think that there's a huge disconnect between the middle class and lower class in crypto. Even more so than in standard fiat.

True of internet technologies in general. A little over 1/3 of the planet is all that uses a smart phone (I suppose there are some granny reasons for that, but mostly economic). I noticed crypto people seem to not understand the limitations of the tech, and what lifts people out of poverty--which explains the hubris of articles like, "How crypto can bootstrap ", etc.

Sociology is the hardest of all the sciences because for us is tremendously difficult to think with proper distance from ourselves. (am not a native english speaker sorry). The thing is.. what I wanted to tell you is that your potential will be incredibly augmented if you approached some serious sociologists (some that dont even have a degree) and specially some sociologist that are not blind by the "amercian" way of thinking. sometimes you don't need a lot of sociology to reach large goals. sociology itself may evolve from big tech. sometimes it's better to just stick to what you know and focus more on implementation and testing. if it doesn't work, increment your knowledge on sociology and other fields then make another or help proliferate other ideas by creating a hub or open sourcing software. reality is much more chaotic than you think.

sometimes you don't need a huge chunk of sociology to reach large goals. you just need the basic ones. a better practice is to focus more on implementation and testing. when it shows undesirable results, create a new one. some orgs like b1 proliferate the implementation and testing of different ideas by creating hubs and open source software. the world is much more chaotic than you think. even sociology itself evolve because of tech.

Did anyone read Vitalik's recent blog post on collusion and identity? Some good stuff in there... I'd post a link but the system won't let me...

Vitalik's thoughts on collusion are so directly in opposition to the structure of eos that it's hard to get the community to have a robust discussion surrounding the problems he addresses. I feel like if you bring up certain questions he poses directly here you'll be more likely to get a conversation going, than broadly asking the community if they're looking at Vitalik's concerns surrounding our consensus model, and how to account for collusion without robust identity. That said. I think Block One understands the need for identity, and is trying to figure something out. I think some of this problem they believe will be solved by the localization of chains down to more specialized communities. That smaller communities will be able to more easily shake out bad actors than some central core chain like mainnet.

Although this article is presented under the guise of satire and is patently ridiculous, I believe it's being used successfully to steer ignorant people who are easily misguided, of which there are many, in a wrong direction. Personally I don't find it at all funny, and I think it's offensive. It puts in mind the tactic used by people whereby they'll insult someone and quickly follow it up by saying they were just joking, in a lame attempt to legitimise the act of saying it in the first place. Even if the article wasn't created maliciously it's being used in a way which is harmful. It seems to fall into the categories of spam or FUD, and I'm wondering if these posts should be deleted in here from now on. Are you talking about a centralised exchange? Typically you'd go to the deposit page for eos on the exchange. You'd get an eos account name and a memo which you need to use. Then send to that eos account with the specified memo. The account name (probably 12 characters) is the exchange's Eos account. The memo allows the exchange to associate the transfer to their eos account with your internal account with the exchange, so they can credit your exchange account with eos IOUs.

for real. good is hard and if done too much could be unhealthy. it happened to me. I was too nice. I grew up in an environment that generally rewards those who follow the rules. but I got into a point where I could not sustain myself while exposed to a much more chaotic environment which rewards those who try to bend the rules. Eventually I rolled into a very bad mental state. Soon enough I was suffering. Then I viewed myself as a loser. I guess what I'll just tell you is make sure that you feel okay when doing what you want for the long term.

Not totally. They managed to "downplay" his candidacy quite a bit. They managed to mention how little of a chance he had multiple times. I thought they did a great job at dismissing him. He turned his attention to education after that. He's got the Ron Paul curriculum with a focus on Liberty. I think Ron would be a great strategic partner for EOS and I can probably facilitate a meeting with you if you want.

Sedentary lifestyle + drinking mountain dews and not taking care of your body lead to health problems down the road. Are you overweight? Well your chances of age-related disease is through the roof. Quality foods help but let’s be honest. We live in an iPhone culture which promotes inactivity. Life was never intended to be easy. Those of us who put in the work every day to eat as well as we can, exercise, and go the extra mile will live long healthy lives. Those of us who sit on our butts and drink soda won’t. Sadly some people don’t want to put i the work.

Foreign policy shouldn't even be up to the voter. You don't ask people to vote on how to remove your tumor. Believe it or not, politics and international relations are just as complicated.
