I heard Peter Schiff talk about increasing voting age significantly. To 25-28 years old. Before then your brain is not fully developed and you havn't really participated in the workforce or in the economy and you dont really know anything about how life works. Seems to make sense to me. Ok. So you've accessed your eos account already. All genesis accounts had all but ten of their eos tokens staked. You can unstake them if you wish. In order to transfer them you'll need a fraction staked to CPU and net.

Your EOS tokens stays on the block chain. You may store your private keys in ledger or use active keys to access mobile wallet like myeoswallet or desktop wallet like scatter. Note down your owner keys on a piece of paper and store them in a very secure place.

Something that I have posted on EOS Nation FB grp: I think projects that initially has a "known" founder can decentralize the project by gradually establishing mechanism to relinquish their centralized control over its development, marketing, representation, and what not (and become simply just another member of the decentralized autonomous community, DAC) -- I'm thinking something like the "Cyber Republic" that Elastos Foundation is establish. Hopefully, over time, EOSIO will gradually relinquish the significant of their role with the development/upgrade of the EOS code and shift towards a more DAC style system. But with EOS, EOSIO will need to ensure that they cannot rig the voting with their own holdings. And ultimately, developmental/marketing decentralization is pointless unless the underlying consensus protocol becomes truly mutable -- e.g. privacy features (to prevent BP identification of transactions) + allowing accounts to opt-out of arbitration; and there are ways to prevent hackers to stashing funds stolen from arbitrated accounts into privacy-cloaked accounts not under the jurisdiction. Also EOS could benefit massively by partnering with Elastos, and utilizing their merged-POW base-layer chain to log/finalize hashes of EOS-chain's histories + enabling P2P (device to device) transaction outside of the main WWW internet. And Elastos will benefit considerably by adopting EOSIO's version of dPOS, rather than trying to reinvent the wheel, and gain access to quality BPs from EOS as well (providing alt revenue stream to lower ranking BPs on the EOS network, to keep themselves going and available to secure both networks). Hello and good morning to all. I have a few questions and appreciate any help that can be offered. I have a number of EOS token which I bought during the year long distribution phase... I transferred these onto the nano ledger s ethereum block chain and registered the address with EOS. I have the private and public keys associated with the ethereum address. The questions I have are:- 1).. How to I register a username for the ethereum address ??. And how to I make sure that these tokens are successfully linked. I want to store my.claimed tokens on the nano EOS wallet. 2) after I have registered. Do I need to keep the original EOS keys that where generated by block one. Hope the questions make and thank you for any help.

You can import your eos private key into an eos wallet and you'll have access to your eos genesis account. The account name was automatically determined. If you want a different account name you will have to create a new account, which is easy to do. You'd be wise to keep your original keys because they give you access to other things which used the genesis snapshot such as Telos. If you want to use your ledger nano s you can. There are many wallets which are compatible with it, so don't think you're limited to the fairy wallet. You can change the keys of your genesis account to be keys from your ledger. Or if you're creating a new account you can give this keys from your ledger.

I don't think you understand. Your ledger nano s can give you eos public keys. You can use these keys to control your existing genesis account (by changing the eos account's keys), or you can use these keys with a newly created eos account. Whichever approach you choose won't make any difference to keeping extra keys written down. You might want a new eos account if you wish to choose you own account name. Did you get my point in an earlier message about keeping your genesis private key?

Many thanks for the answers Hadrian. I sense a bit of frustration in this response. So apologies for this. It is the last thing I want to do. The reason I do not want to rely on the genesis account is that I do not want to have to rely on private keys printed on bits of paper which I need to keep in different places for both the nano and also the genesis block private key. I want to be in a position that should the worst happen all I have to do is reninitilaise an existing nano or a new one with my seed words and have my coins just reappear. This works with ltc btc etc. From what you are saying a would have to keep relying on the genesis block private key in order to reninitilaise the nano.to get my keys off. Hopefully this makes a bit more sense and apologies if I am not quiet articulating what I am trying to achieve or causing any frustration. Thanks for all your input so far.

With eos you can change the keys of your account. So you can change the keys of your eos genesis account from what they currently are, to keys which you get from your ledger. Then you can, if you have to, access your eos account using only your ledger's mnemonic code (and any passphrase you may have added when setting up your ledger).

As @lukapercic said, you can use your ledger with other software, not just scatter. Plus scatter is open source, so you can keep the code. Even if, hypothetically, all wallets which are compatible with the ledger disappeared taking the code with them you can get your eos private key from the ledger's mnemonic and use that on any wallet. At the moment you use your ledger with scatter. You can be a ledger nomad. You can go and use bloks.io, come back to scatter for a transaction or two. Then head off and use eos-voter for a bit with your ledger. Then go to altshiftdev.com or fairy wallet for a holiday, and come back home to scatter for a few months. Then you could have a long weekend at http://myeoswallet.one. Then you could try the triple whammy of using bloks.io via scatter via your ledger. Then use bloks.io via your ledger thanks to @TransitAPI.

Hey Dan! Don’t know if this has been asked before, but is there any thought solution for DApps that want to create accounts for their users without spending an excessive amount of EOS?

Dapps can work around this limitation. Novusphere built discussions.app so that non eos account holders can participate using a side state account. These side state accounts can be turned into full eos accounts either by the user or by anyone else since they use a standard eos key pair. Eventually these side state accounts will function with very little different to a standard eos account across all the novusphere dapps.

if is going to be hard to write dapps on a platform, it will become more centralized speciallly if there are any upgrades to the platform...the ones that created the platform will be the ones upgrading any code.
