the biggest issue with the vote today, honestly, wasn't a holdup of chinese bp's, etc. It was the fact that the BP's weren't really ready to handle the results of a close vote. They couldn't trust the results of their voting process, cuz it was a sh%tshow. I get it; they've been working on testing/validating a blockchain. But the moment they all voted/signed an agreement to vote for concensus with 2/3 + 1, they should have put into place a clean, clear voting mechanism tool. They're using Zoom like Google Hangouts, instead of using the robust, built-in tools in Zoom for easy polling and voting. And because of that, you had people in the meeting who didn't belong, you had teams making multiple votes, etc. The first vote was a go; the second, a no-go. But in reality, no one could honestly say which one was more accurate because their voting system was crappy. They're supposed to be fixing this by tomorrow's vote, so hopefully the voting results and objections to moving forward--if any--will be easier to decipher.

👍🏾 we use Zoom every week for our business, and it was embarrasing to see how dissheveled the voting process was...like i said earlier, these guys/girls has been working their asses off, so they had other priorities....but i just think tonight was an "oh sh%t" moment for them in realizing they need to tighten up the use of their meeting platform...once they get that down, they should be able to see what the objections are to moving forward, clarify them, and take a vote that everyone can feel confident about.

If I remember correctly its like a multi-step process booting the EOS main net. The BPs voted first to try make an agreement and stick together. Then a randomly chosen verified BP gonna generate the genesis block. Then EOS users gonna vote to choose 23 BPs to be the first slate of super-nodes.

The block producer candidates are working on a fallback solution for people who didn't register their wallets on time. Have you made an outgoing transaction from your address before the tokens were frozen? It can be any transaction, not just eos related stuff. If there wasn't, the fallback won't work for you. You might be able to get your eos from a pool of tokens set up in the genesis block through arbitration, but you'll probably have to wait quite some time. Only when it is formally announced safe by multiple trusted Block Producer Candidates should you attempt to go through with the fallback solution. Best to wait for now until more info is provided by the BPs and try and not do anything drastic like give out your keys. Best of luck.

There’s a possibility it might. You may have had to do a transaction before the snapshot but I’m not sure. The best thing to do is just wait until we hear more on the fallback and try not to worry just now.

Serious enough to know that those 21 BPs will be profiting very well and rightly so. But it is our job to hold them to account on our and the whole projects behalf. It's all but a big dance, we all have moves to make for it to flow.

It's not a kick back job to be a block producer. You should come at them with a bit more respect than this please-me type attitude. We have the protocol in place to hold everyone accountable but if they were to discuss every tiny typo in the code with us, there would be constant fud abd heightened stress on the BPs during this launch. This isnt a major hierarchy, the block producers are on the same team as us and we all need to be focused on the same thing, which is a secure launch. At the moment, we have no effect on that so news besides the GO vote for launch is irrelevant to us an has zero urgency.
