My concern is that 86% of EOS is held at the top 1% of accounts. Those accounts are largely exchanges and b1. If they don't vote, we will not be able to acheive the 15% we need.

you can buy it on exchanges like binance. but it will be locked inside of binance until main net is ready and they swapped it into the new native network for you.

If you have the seed phrase from when you set it up you can use a bip39 mnemonic convertor tool to get your ethereum private key. Then you can use the fallback to convert that to an eos private key to access your account when the blockchain is running. An example bip39 tool: https://iancoleman.io/bip39/

To do it securely you should consider moving everything other than eos out of the address. The following would be a relatively secure way to get your key. Download a bip39 tool to a usb stick. Then boot an operating system from removable media, without installing it, and with the device unnetworked. Then use the bip39 tool to derive your ethereum private key from your ledger's mnemonic seed. Record the private key in a secure manner - this is what you need to be able to use the fallback. If this is too much hassle and the value of your eos isn't substantial, you could just disconnect from the internet as you use the tool. It's your decision. If you need assistance we could do it step-by-step in PM when I've more time.

Hadrian, I'm currently undergoing the same problem as many others seem to have, ERC20 token left on ERC20 blockchain by mistake on metamask. I'm not quite familiar with the BIP39 tool, so if you could help with converting the private key from meta to an EOS address I'd greatly appreciate it. If you have the time ofcourse.

Yes you will because you own your private keys. They just won't show up in your exodus wallet. When a new safe wallet is ready you can import your EOS keys there to acccess new airdropped tokens

Is it for all kind of airdrops ? and the future ones ? Because i'm thinking just to keep my EOS in exodus wallet, but i'm confused if i am going to miss some airdrops.

if you keep any token in a wallet that you do not own the private keys for, yes, there is a chance you will miss out on the airdrops....you may miss a few of the first ones on eos, but once you move your coins to a wallet under ur keep, you'll be find.....remember, none of the PB's have proven themselves yet...neither have these future dapps on the EOS network....i'd suggest to just take a breath, relax...and wait for the network, BP's, and dapp developers to prove themselves ....until then these airdrops are vaporware....and even if you miss a handful, you'll have hundreds/thousands coming down the pipe....it wouldln't surprise me if we all just start making a junk wallet --like spam--to capture the initial airdrops and then later separate the cream of the crop that rises to the top

Exodus is somewhat of a rare bird in how they're set up, but there is no guarantee that they will honor all the airdrops....there's still a layer of control you don't have with the exodus wallet unless you export your key out to a more traditional wallet like MEW or Metamask (just as a few examples)

yup, i'd suggest that anyone who has used exodus as their EOS wallet for registration purposes eventually export that wallet out to a more traditional wallet once the network is stable [however long that may take]....if they happen to honor all/most airdrops in the time being, they'll easily be found once the wallet is exported...i think that any BP or dapp developer of real substance will wait until the network on solid footing prior to releasing if they want maximum exposure....if we miss a few, so be it

right now you cant move in or outside of wallet/exchange. have to keep it within exchanges only (because they actually dont move on the blockchain on exchanges, they just hold them all in one wallet and update private numbers for each users on each trade)

They are the same, some people transferred to mew to have control of genesis and get airdrops. They are both still erc-20 tokens at the moment and both with become eos tokens. Either way this in private wallets can’t trade. Those that stayed on exchanges can trade.

I think it depends on your business’s use case. EOS mainnet is a fantastic network for consumer dapps, small/med sized business, and some larger enterprises that don’t mind being governed by token holders. But, different chains will suit different purposes depending on the needs for its clients. Orbs is an interesting project for enterprise businesses and works like AWS and has similar through puts to EOS. But don’t forget that EOS is open source so anyone can gain benefits of features on their own chain.

Yes, everything. Just keep them in Exodus for the time being. All air drops are tied to your new EOS username which you can access once a new safe wallet is launched.

They won’t always be token holders necessarily. Down the line businesses may just opt to use the EOS rental market instead of holding g tokens based on their economic needs. But, at the end of the day the direction of the chain is dictate by token holders through the BPs they elect. Some businesses may not like that. But that’s ok! There will be different blockchain options for different needs.

exchanges are trading the frozen erc20 token yes. the way exchanges work they can just hold all their users' tokens in a single address. when you trade on the platform it doesnt actually go onchain, its offchain numbers updating in private databases.

The exchanges hold the actual tokens on frozen addresses but they keep track of trades in their own databases anyway so only withdrawal is no possible.

did you register yourself? then you should have a new eos private/public key. you'll use that later with one of the new native eos wallets. if you let binance or another exchange register for you, they will make a new native eos wallet address available for you there eventually.

Not necessarily. Dapp developers and businesses don’t need to own EOS in order to get resources. That’s why there’s going to be a rental market so that people can access the ram, etc. Without buying the tokens. Also, we don’t know how good EOS is at getting rid of bad actors, we haven’t done it yet! Lol!
