If you're a SUPER advanced user, run an API node on your own machine. Disconnect it from the internet. Get everything in safe mode.Turn OFF internet. Launch your api node with no connections, and connect the wallet, set up your credentials. But at this point.. just use cleos 😝

yep you're good. the way exchanges work they just have one big address with the erc20 tokens. they then have a private database where they store how much of that each of their customers own. so when you trade they just update those private numbers. nothing happens on the public blockchain, withdrawals and funding are frozen.

you use any wallet software you trust, e.g. something built on scatter and then stake it once and forget about it until you need to unstake. always best to hold it yourself with a private key you control.

It's something about the scripts. We also have a portal at eosamericas.com/dashboard . We purchased a SSL cert for our site. But for some reason, the https is really slow compared to http: so we point to the better one. I would not read anything bad into that. EOSeoul seem like good folks and they are working hard with us and others on the launch.

There’s been some misconception by some people surrounding the not-go/go vote that took place the other day. The vote was for the block producer candidates to agree to go for launch. This meant that they would select an ABP to boot up the chain and start meshing. Once the meshing was done they then had to pause the process and go through validating it before opening it up to the public to begin voting, which is what they have been working tirelessly on the last several hours, and then they would schedule another meeting to agree that its good to go. That has been the plan all along and that meeting is scheduled in a few hours time so today should be the day we get to vote, if all has gone well with the validation which seems to be the case with the reports that have come out over the last few hours. no you cant move them anymore from your trezor, they are frozen forever. you should have registered them and generated a new native eos key right? otherwise you'd be dependent on the automated fallback registration process the community is working on to get you the new eos mainnet tokens.

the main net is not completely ready yet. once the voting is up and enough people have voted the tokens will be unlocked to be moved on the main net. then you can use any of the new eos wallet softwares, e.g. scatter to move them

i think they way it works is that dapp developers that require system resources can decide if they want to let users stake tokens to pay for it (harder to convince some users) or stake themselves to attract them easier (requires more money as dapp developer)

Staking to BPs, or more likely DApp developers (we are both - full disclosure) is completely safe. You can easily revoke it at any time. It's just a way to earn some dividends on your EOS tokens if you are not using them to their fullest. There is ZERO risk involved in staking.

The market is underpinned by bitcoin. Bitcoin is controlled by a several miners and therefore is controlled structurally. The wealth distribution of btc is also undesirable. People can only get into btc by coinbase or less trusted sites. The whole thing will grind to halt because like the way society is set up it is fixed. I hope EOS with it democratic element of voting and free transactions can liberate this space.

My belief that there is zero risk in staking is based on looking at the code and understanding the process behind it. Staking/Leasing tokens is a core function on the network and is well tested not to risk losing control of the tokens. This is also a function that already exists on different blockchain projects such as WAVES which provides a chance to learn and refine. That is what I based my statement on. Of course there is risk in everything. Look both ways before crossing that street, my friend!

The ABP was a randomized member of our cohort of BPCs. One entity had to start the mainnet. For a while they had godlike power. However, based on our unanimous vote they have relinquished that power. The rest of the BPCs have re-validated the blockchain to ensure that no special code was injected (all signs are that there was not) and the "god node: no longer exists - replaced by a mesh of nodes, of which we are one.

There's a distinction between transfers and transactions.

Yes, if your tokens are on an exchange, then you can't transfer out until the exchange decides to allow it. That will be when they feel comfortable with the chain stability / get around to it. We BPCs need to get the chain going stably to allow this. Some will complain about "wallet issues" too long because they always do (I'm looking at you *******!) but the BPCs and B1 have no control over that.

I'm simply saying I understand this to be impossible because of staked tokens and the 15% threshold. You need to find it or wait (probably a long time) to see if a solution comes. I saw a suggestion that a genesis account remaining untouched for a year might be recoverable with the ethereum private key. You've got to sit tight and see how things unfold. 🤞

You are actually in a better position with EOS than any other blockchain. There is an arbitration / resolution process in EOS. I don't know the specifics, but I wouldn't give up hope at this point.

You may be able to prove you purchased the tokens and own the appropriate ETH wallet. The tools don't exist yet, but I can see how they are possible. As opposed to BTC where you'd just be s#!* out of luck.

So, if you watch the recording of the meeting 2 days ago (ssems like a month!) you'll see that I also initially had big problems with this point. But then Dan joined us and deftly explained that any inflation would be uniform across the EOS owners. So I think everyone can expect to see a tiny fraction more tokens in your wallet than you initially bought. That is what keeps it fair and really the best option for necessary RAM and account generation functions that must occur to fully launch network for everyone.

I'm not sure the tokens will ultimately be burned. I just don't know. We will figure it out soon. BTW, so far, I would say that every single vote the BPCs have taken have been in favor of preserving the voice and value of the EOS token holders at large.

Can someone here please recommend a source, maybe YouTube, in which it is really well explained how the airdrop system works in EOS. To me it seems, that companies that do airdrops, want to sell a lot of their tokens at the start, as will a lot of EOS holders. The companies want to raise capital so the tokens they have to raise capital will be sold in the first ‘maybe’ two months, which probably means lots more sellers than buyers. But I’m new to EOS, that’s why I need a good source. Million dollar EOS bet was nice but too short.

I don't have anything to do with airdrops, but I've received tokens from a lot on ETH net. My understanding is that each company makes their own determination, but basically, if you have EOS in a wallet, their airdrops will automatically appear in your account. I would be VERY cautious about any airdrops that require registration - especially if you need to provide keys. [Danger! Danger!]

Only once this threshold has been reached can people unstake the bulk of their tokens from CPU and network, and carry out all functions including regular transfers of eos tokens.

No, I don't see any reason why you could not unstake your tokens and transfer them. If that mainnet candidate fails (god forbid) then the tokens would still exist on whatever chain superceded it. I expect that no exchanges will choose to enable transfers in/out until a 15% quorum is set.

What I mean is...if a company that starts running on the eos ecosystem has the airdrop, but needs to raise capital themselves, they would have to transfer millions and millions of tokens to exchanges to raise capital, right? Same questions over and over.. ERC 20 tokens are frozen forever.. Either you registered and are due new tokens on the new main chain. Or you didn’t register and you need to wait for a possible solution to transfer tokens. You need your Ethereum private key for the second option..

You can’t move them anymore as the ERC20 tokens were just used for the snapshot and are now frozen forever. Some exchanges are supporting the swap though so you don’t need to worry about registering them as registration has finished. If you’re buying them make sure the exchange supports the swap and once the mainnet goes live the exchange with give you native EOS. Remember, in less than 3 hours the mainnet could potentially be launched. Best of luck.

Fork? Doesn't make sense to me if that fork doesn't have a meaning of existing. And we all agreed to launch a single mainnet. Once a main chain has been recognized there is not going to be another chain that needs to be recognized. In the future there are anyway going to be many EOS side chains connected to EOS where BPs can participate too

You can’t move them anymore as the ERC20 tokens were just used for the snapshot and are now frozen forever. Some exchanges are supporting the swap though so you don’t need to worry about registering them as registration has finished. If you’re buying them make sure the exchange supports the swap and once the mainnet goes live the exchange will give you native EOS. Remember, in around 2 hours time the mainnet could potentially be launched. Best of luck.
