They are not trading ERC20 tokens, they are trading EOS, which they support ERC20 to MAINNET switch so when switch is done forexample EOS in your binance account can be withdraw to your EOS wallet on main chain.

Assume that currently traded eos tokens are the ones of the upcoming mainnet and not erc20 anymore (exchanges prepared for the upcoming token swap), but you cannot deposit or withdraw because erc20 frozen and mainnet is not lauched and no token swap yet

just do not mix the concept of ERC20 or mainnet tokens with coins in exchanges. Those numbers you saw in your exchange account is not actually in your wallet in exchange. Those are in your account in exchange. thats all

do not trust 3.rd parties, mostly they can give true information but forexample my case they show wrong information, i register twice, its shows first address i registered. Correct information is on MEW, contracts > eos distribution > access > keys function > type your eth wallet address > get eos public key. if eos public key is your eos public key in your hand you get that on registration and private key is safe and secure. you are good to go (if there is eos in that wallet)

they were frozen in the exchanges so you could not withdraw or deposit. Each exchanged specified when they were going to unable that function

Eos on exchanges is linked to the exchange wallet and not individual account wallets. So the exchange knows who has what eos and whatever the general wallet owned by the exchange gets in terms of airdrops etc then this is passed on to the individual user accounts. Would this be correct?

You need to understand that not every airdrop is conducted with the same criteria, and it’s the decision of the exchange on if they will participate in it. Most of the airdrops coming soon are based off of the genesis snapshot and are only distributing to those who had their EOS in a private wallet.

Again, that depends on the airdrop. If a particular airdrop wants to base their distribution on their own snapshot at a time when your EOS are in the wallet, then yes, you might receive it. But that also depends on the criteria of the airdrop. Not every airdrop has the same requirements. However, like I said, most of the upcoming airdrops are using the genesis snapshot for who will be receiving their airdrop.

I think he is saying that there is a possibility that, since BPs are creating the chain, that there could be multiple blockchain launched all based on the main EOS construct. Not entirely clear on what you are asking here.

creating a token is not the same as network, mainnet is like the erc20 network that tokens are creted to use. Now eos is switching from erc20 to mainnet. WHen on erc20 I guess the tokencreator have to pledge to be faithful to that network as the ones at mainnet have to. I am asking if there is a difference. If theres not I guess anyone can create a token off EOS and build their own mainnet.

@Mike090 registering might be closed as the snapshot has taken place and we’re in the validation process to make sure balances and such match up. I’ve heard there might be a backup option in the works so the only thing to do is to wait for updates on it. Don’t do anything drastic like give out your keys in a panic. Just take your time and wait for word on a backup option from reputable sources. Best of luck.

The countdown was for when the tokens froze and the snapshot was to take place. We’re now in the token validation process to make sure BPs have matching results and then they’ll launch a chain to start the boot process and pause the process to begin testing. Once everything checks out then the mainnet should launch soon after.

Because you can but no deposits of withdrawals which means it’s not going anywhere. So when mainnet is launched they will distribute to wallets

On exchanges they use a placeholder for the number you have and it only moves onto the block chain once you withdraw your funds. This allows then to continue trading is why they stopped withdraws.

I answered this not too far from your own comment. Exchanges use a placeholder for your balance and it only goes into the block chain once you withdraw. This allows then to keep trading and why they stopped withdraws.

Your eos erc20 token now has a sexier looking twin token called "native eos coin" and it resides in a snapshot waiting to be born into this world on the main eos network. One the network is live, your tokens will appear there 1:1 and you can access them using an approved eos wallet by importing your EOS private keys that you got when you registered.

When does it happen?

We’re in the first stage of the BPs validating the snapshot that took place. Once that is complete then they’ll start the boot process and start testing. Once that’s done we should be able to vote and then the launch soon afterwards. Be patient :)

Scatter is working on a backup plan for those who didn’t register. The best thing is to wait on the launch and keep up to date with the block producers. Don’t do anything crazy like give out your keys in a panic. Remember scams will be rampant at the moment so take your time and follow reputable sources for what to do when those tools are available. Have you made any outgoing transactions from the address where your eos tokens are? And do you have your mnemonic seed phrase from when you setup your ledger? If yes and yes, then you can derive your ethereum private key and use the fallback to access your eos account. I can assist.

No you lease it to developers to make apps on EOS network for which to run they need resources which they get from BPs on your behalf. Your tokens get instaked after the duration of the contract is over, releasing them.

Yes everything will come. Keep in mind that the mainnet is not even launched yet. It is in process. And then it will take some time till get stable. I would say till everything gets stable, don't do anything stupid with your tokens which may leads to loss or something. Wait for official notice :)
