I think I read that one already. EOS Tribe is always solid
They put out very useful info quickly and their graphic designer is on point. The recent airdrop graphic was extremely well done. Subtle native american headdress themed. I love me some infographics but that was really stunning.

I'd even argue that every candidate is a quality team and deserves to have a shot. This has been going on for awhile and a lot of trash teams have fallen off. Hopefully people are still trickling in votes. Arent SBPs paid as well as BPs? As long as they have 0.5% of votes, they are standby and are compensated to some extent?
Not all candidates, but there are currently only ~30 SBPs that are getting paid. All BPs above the 52th spot (IIRC) are currently not getting paid while they have added a lot of value to the EOS ecosystem

Don't fully agree, SBPs are doing more than just being a backup.
In any case token holder should be able to vote on inflation or a dynamic algorithm should determine it. Right now there is only the hope that the dapp ecosystem needs more staking.

There is something that I don't understand fully yet. Most airdrops so far used the genesis snapshot, most of the times it's >100= automatic and <100 = extra registration step. airdrops that don't use the genesis snapshot will look at the current EOS balance (probably?), my question: if your EOS is staked, will it still be counted for a >100\<100 EOS threshold?

@jaredfloyd The current EOS inflation is 5%, 4% of that inflation is used to fund the worker proposal fund and the other 1% is used to pay BPs. BPs can get paid in 2 ways: The top 21 BPs get paid block rewards for each block they produce, these rewards are equal for each top 21 BP. The other way to get paid is by getting votes. You get paid according to how many votes you have, you need at least 0,5% of all votes (earn 100 EOS per day) to get paid. That means that the top 53 BPs are currently getting paid. All other BPs below the 53th spot are not getting paid at the moment and are losing money as a result of it

It is really unfortunate, we are currently one of these BPs aswell. The current treshold is too high leading to a more centralized network.

You get payed based on how many votes you have received, to get payed at least 100 EOS per day you need about 0,5% of all votes. So if you have less than 0,5% of all votes you are not earning 100 EOS per day and you are not getting paid

That is also a reason why this treshold was imposed, but lowering it a bit should still ensure mostly quality candidates are selected and that it would be near impossible to just be a fake BP. There are also talks about making sure BPs have a good enough server infrastructure to be a BP, so there are no bad/fake BPs getting paid

The actual money that is paid that the BPs will have as an income for bills and life is a small fraction of what they are paid. They have a very active responsibility, maintain what could be considered a mini-data center and invest most into better the blockchain. To be honest with you - over time bps will push out smaller bpcs.. because of how much they earn and can spend on infrastructure- but building something for the community will get you votes. While in principal I agree with you that smaller (below 100 eos) bpcs are still valuable I think over time they will drop out.. having 21active and 21 stand by bpcs is not bad

With a low amount of BPs (active and standby) the BPs that are getting paid get paid a lot, making it a lot harder and more expensive for new BPs to get in. This makes EOS more exclusive over time. The geographical diversity is also lower with a low amount of BPs.
V

With that I agree - the bpc race will be tough.. but seeing bps build small tools got them where they are now.. you can still get in that race.. the community rewarded voting tools chain explorers wallets etc.. simples
That is also true. Some BPs are receiving votes for the wrong reasons (not trying to discredit anyone)

So you're saying it makes the most sense for them to collude just with themselves, meaning that its likely the SBPs arent corrupt in that scenario.
Exactly, and I am saying more. I am saying that if people were to collude they want to share that with the minimal set of sufficient people. Aka getting 51% is the goal not 200.. imagine you can get to the candy if you collude with 3 guards.. would you collude with 42 risking discovery or sharing the candy?

Also have to factor being exposed by a potential colluder. It would be too difficult as a community to truly determine who the colluders were though. That's why we may just want a fresh start. It's possible and because of that possibility, I'd think at least a collective 80-100 BPs and SBPs would be sufficient.

Greymass released 1.0.7 with a "claim" feature because in some instances, tokens are not becoming unstaked after 3 days. If this happened to you, update to their latest version and claim your tokens. It's a different function from unstaking and should fix your issue.

Testnets are to try the new smart contract features one is running now KEVM and IELE next month with a new K-framework for coding. There is no flood to neo because it's not ready to handle global adoption. Eos supports any language with a we webassembly compiler and is scalable enough to handle anything. Apple opened the floodgates, as will EOS. Dont be too particular.

Actually not a scam, that's what makes it worse imo. They are a well known and vital project for our scalability. Theyll take us up to 100k tps and eventually 1mm tps. It's just they are using sales gimmicks to push their price up so that when they sell the tokens they didn't airdrop, it will be for a high price. The gimmicks have had the opposite effect on me and I'm sure anyone else who has seen the truth.

No, you aren't able to move EOS from ETH wallet to EOS wallet. Your ERC-20 EOS is still in your ETH wallet and will be forever. A new token was created on the EOS chain. So, the airdrops will also stay on ETH, unless they decide to airdrop another on the EOS chain.

protect your private key. My personal experience is that other than voting and checking your balance, there's not much you can do to affect your balance or liquidity at this point. You might want to set up a scatter account so you're ready to act when the time comes.

The EOS in MEW are ERC20 token which were only used for the snapshot to verify how many EOS you have. Those tokens are now frozen forever. You're now able to access your native EOS on an EOS wallet using the EOS keys you got from registering.

Although many BP’s have proven they can contribute good stuff for the eco-system, some are stil outside top 21 or not even a standby bp. It’s important for the eco-system to have these standby BP’s. stakeholder diversity and voter participation is critical to avoid block production collusion and cartels that threaten community stability. there are only 21 active block producers, which is a temptingly small number of entities to corrupt, susceptible to collusion. For the ecosystem to thrive, stakeholders must vote carefully and frequently to establish a widely distributed, independent set of block producers that are technically solid, ethically sound and independently funded. Please avoid the whales! Reconsider the vote’s you made! Don’t be sheep’s and follow all the others only voting top 21 bp’s. Choose your votes outside the top 30 with some research on witch one’s you think can contribute to the community and ecosystem. your vote matters! Please read the full article on: http://sonatasys.com/eosio.shtml
