So we can all understand what we’re voting for. If no structure why can’t just anyone with a PC in their bedroom become a BPC. Surly we should know what and who were voting for. I was part of the original cafe group and we were discussing running and taking over cafe’s. Now we’re switchingto BPC’s? Where do we draw the line. What’s to stop anyone being a BP with no vetting?

The incoming ones are where they did claim transactions with no tokens available to claim. It's quite simply that they have sent their tokens to the eos distribution contract in error. Luckily for them, when you do that the snapshot attributes the tokens to your ethereum address. Therefore the genesis block has their tokens waiting for them. They can access them the same as everyone else by using their eos private key.

Skirting the law is not a refuge for incompetence

Legal compliance should be a top priority and IMO clearly takes precedence on this issue. block.one are safe in the knowledge that BPs will create wallets and voting mechanisms as they are heavily incentivised. It also gives BPs a first chance to prove their worth and earn some votes.

We had a private audit done before we released, but unfortunately they are bound by contract so we can't use their name. So it was for ourselves to feel confident in our own code.

I think it's because how it can be viewed as a security otherwise it's a no brainier. Exchanges make money on volume. That makes EOS only 2nd to Bitcoin for exchange profitability

This literally has more potential than ANYTHING else I'm seeing.. fuck it I've made this call before and sat on the sidelines just to be full of regret. Sure, but bitfinex is tied in with EOS' richest fan Brock. Bitfinex could easily ask the community if plopping 100mm votes is kosher to launch the chain then withdraw them from contention by unstaking their customers' assets.

Easiest voting path so far has been greymass' eos-voter lite wallet. If using cleos, crypto lions has a fucntion on their site that allows to click and select BPs and copy paste into cleos transaction. Tokenika had created a great offline tutorial and eosportal.io and scatter are decent but experiencing problems until nsjames finishes his nightmare travel back from Tulip.

Not completely at the moment. You can use cleos to create a 12 character name for free/near zero EOS. If you want a shorter name, there is a bid process that is a bit clunky and likely subject to change.

Not sure, honestly, exchanges might have to create the account and burn a small amount of EOS to do so, and cover it up in withdrawal fees.
