I thought developers were doing airdrops for registered holders

the word "airdrop" can be used differently depending on who you ask. the initial eos distribution i would not call "airdrop" even though technically pretty much the same thing happens: some token you own gets counted in a snapshot and then you receive a new token. with airdrops though they typically happen on the same network and you won't need new keys to access the airdrop.

EOS is a completely new blockchain which will have an equivalent to the Ethereum ERC-20 tokens which will also be supported on EOS as far as I know with the help of the Bancor protocol

Just using that reasoning to say why having a user interface wallet from block.one isn't that big of a deal. Quite a few community members have stepped forward and made some great options. I will personally be using Scatter, and then transfer to my Ledger if we get that integration.

no, EOS is EOS, it will have its own wallet, it's no longer the ERC-20 token that lived on the Ethereum blockchain until the final snapshot

1.You need to generate eos key pair via fallback tool built by eos cafe/calgary or eosauthority using your eth private key. 2. Although tools were already used by other community members, imo it is wiser to wait until mainnet is live and situation is clear - stay tuned. 3. That is all we can do for you at the moment.

As requested on the Zoom call, here are the screenshots I mentioned of the conversation with Dan. His criteria five days ago: 1. Does someone lose money? 2. Is there down time? 3. Does the chain just pause for 24 hours while we fix it? He goes on to say his primary concern is the loss of private keys since we do not have account recovery for these early accounts generated via the snapshot. If we're not dealing with a category 1 or 2 issue, we should be in a pretty good place to launch. Category 3 would be very unfortunate, but something we can recover from. As Dan said 5 days ago "I don't think the current test network is actually invalid" (which would imply it's valid).

it’s the foundation of a wallet in that it stores your private key and let’s you send any type of transaction (money transfer or smart contract action). other dapps and wallets will be able to use it. this way you only store the private key in scatter and not in each single dapp you interact with.

it’s not supposed to show up in scatter yet if that’s what you mean. but yea i registered one. you can verify it on the etherscan website for your 1 EOS transaction at the bottom where it says Input Data there’s a button to show it, it should include the eos public key and id name you submitted. should be all good.

using any of the new eos wallets that are going to emerge in the coming days once the main net is live. you wont have to do anything to _receive_ your tokens they will automatically be there on the EOS address you registered. You can then whenever you want to move or do something with your tokens use the private key in any of the new eos wallet softwares (i recommend anything that uses Scatter) to actually interact with the tokens.

My understanding is binance has a big bag of Eos in a wallet, so when you buy on binance you are doing it internal to their system, so just buying rights to the coin... Not really buying an erc20 or mainnet coin... The blockchain only gets a transaction when withdrawals happen. So it's locked down to withdrawal until mainnet is open. Hope that explains a bit.

when you vote your EOS is locked, meaning you cant transfer it for the duration you choose to keep your vote active. If you want to get your EOS back (to sell or buy CPU etc) you can unstake your vote, which takes 3 days before it is released back to you
