If you didn't register and there's an outgoing transaction from your address you can use the fallback method: https://eosauthority.com/blog/how_to_generate_your_EOS_fallback_key_from_ethereum_private_key. If you used a hardware wallet you need to use your mnemonic seed phrase to generate your ethereum private key (read up on security best practices first) by using a bip39 tool such as https://iancoleman.github.io/bip39/ ( https://github.com/iancoleman/bip39 ), then you can use fallback. If there's no outgoing transaction your eos will be in a pool in the genesis block and you may be able to get it if you wait long enough (likely through arbitration on the eos blockchain).

Yes. It's because the fallback script generates an eos public key from the ethereum public key. An ethereum public key can be derived from an ethereum address only if there's a signature available. Only outgoing transactions are signed using the private key associated with the ethereum public key. The script works such that the eos public key generated will correctly pair with the eos private key which people can generate for themselves using the fallback method with their ethereum private key.

It might be better to complain to the airdroppers. I assume they have Telegram groups. You said it pisses you off that people with less than 100 tokens are requested to vote but aren't counted on some airdrops. I think it's reasonable to suggest that people vote, and don't think that third party airdrops should interfere with that suggestion.

You'd have to create a new account. You can very easily use scatter with a portal to do this. You're account name must be 12 characters (a-z, 1-5). Portals such as toolkit.genereos.io/tools or myeoskit.com . It's easy to vote while your at it! Portals such as eosportal.io or myeoskit.com can be used to vote in the same manner. You can't do it for free unless you were to find someone else to offer to do it for you. Many dapp business models I imagine will give users accounts, with the dapp paying for creation. You can create an account yourself right now very cheaply though (assuming you have a genesis account). You could ask someone with a genesis account to create one for you - you could give them your eos public keys (best to generate an owner key and an active key)

yes, it doesn't matter really which wallet software you use. the airdrops get sent to your account, that is tied to your keypair. you can in theory access that same account with any eos wallet.

You’ll still receive the airdrops in Exodus, as long as you’re registered and followed the requirements for the airdrop, as you control the keys. Some airdrops have dropped as ERC20 tokens as the mainnet wasn’t launched, such as eosDAC, but they will eventually move over to the EOS blockchain at a later date. As the mainnet has launched, still in the voting period though, future airdrops will go into your EOS wallet; again as long as you’re registered and follow the requirements the airdrop may have. As I said, you’ll still get the airdrops even if you’re EOS is in Exodus. Exodus published an article about airdrops which you should look into. They may not support the airdrop tokens within the application, viewing your balance and such, but you can still access them via mew, if they are ERC20 tokens, or from an EOS wallet, if they are on the EOS blockchain.

😂 I know you're talking about waiting for the threshold to be met. But. Ironically enough once you've set up a way to access your eos account the process of voting is blazing fast because this is eos! People will be thrilled when they start using eos. Use eos for a month, then go back and do stuff on ethereum or bitcoin. It's like going back to VHS tape after getting used to Ultra HD. Worse! With fees! It's like EOS is sitting in your comfy chair watching Ultra HD. The others are like having to pedal a bicycle with a dynamo to generate electricity to watch a VHS tape on a tiny black and white screen.

When the EOS token is unfrozen, you will get 2 private keys. The additional private key is a voting key. You can use this key for voting. So for Noobs, please dont endanger your current private key which is used for all transactions. Don't risk it if you are not sure how to do it safely. Be safe!

eos is inheritently a little bit more complicated to use because it adds account names on top of just having a public and private key. but when you get used to it it's not that unintuitive.

Creating an account requires RAM in EOS. RAM must be purchased. It costs something like 0.1 EOS but the GenerEOS toolkit is simply a set of tools that make it easier to complete functions on EOS than using the command line would.

@Joan_Mor Look at the questions everyone else is asking. Technical interesting questions. People are exciting about this project. Hadrian couldn’t have explained any clearer to you that this is a decision individual projects have made. Not EOS. If they decide 100 then 100 it is. It’s up to them, it’s their project, EOS was only 0.50 cents a year ago. People who too interest in it and invested early have been rewarded for that. People who have no interested in the project and are only here for profit have not. I would say this system has worked pretty well.

You can’t move them because the tokens are now frozen. You’ll still receive the airdrops in Exodus, as long as you’re registered and followed the requirements for the airdrop, as you control the keys. Some airdrops have dropped as ERC20 tokens as the mainnet wasn’t launched, such as eosDAC, but they will eventually move over to the EOS blockchain at a later date. As the mainnet has launched, still in the voting period though, future airdrops will go into your EOS wallet; again as long as you’re registered and follow the requirements the airdrop may have. As I said, you’ll still get the airdrops even if you’re EOS is in Exodus. Exodus published an article about airdrops which you should look into. They may not support the airdrop tokens within the application, viewing your balance and such, but you can still access them via mew, if they are ERC20 tokens, or from an EOS wallet, if they are on the EOS blockchain.

You should download the Greymass wallet. To move them to Binance that’s just a simple token transfer after unstake, which you can perform in the wallet. It is a three day period one has to wait from the moment one unstakes (except for RAM which is immediate)

This means you can vote for up to 30 different Block Producers with each token; however, you cannot cast multiple votes to the same Block Producer with the same token. Also, if you vote for less, the weight of the vote stays the same. So whoever you voted for won't get more %.

RANT: Why is the EOS Portal listing all the BPs by the number of votes? The rich are still getting richer! Whatever happened to listing by random order? Whatever happened to filtering by continent? Why is it only using the region identifier from the regproducer call(intended for next near neighbour) instead of taking the information out of the bp.json file? Why doesn't it even list the Block Producers name? Why is it using the acount name as the main identifier instead(imagine if your mailbox did this with email addresses)? Overal I do not see this system as contributing to somethng that is going to help change the world. The promise of creating a future that doesn't look exactly like our past has not be incoporated into this voting portal. I think it needs some urgent modifications, all you are doing with it is encouraging the top ranked BPs to get more votes, further increasing the criticism of EOS not being decentralised enough. We should be designing system to encourgae people to vote for BPs with less than 0.5% so that we get to spread the EOS love and revenue around the whole globe and to the places which need it the most. New York and London have got plenty shouldn't we be encouraging people to vote for Vietnam, Romania, Albania, Spain, Russia, India, Singapore and places like this. Maybe they don't have the best technical skills or infrastructure but they managed to get listed and call regproducer so given the right encouragement and some money they'll be able to become better. If you decided to give away $100 would you give it the homeless guy or the guy who is complaining his gym membership is too expensive?! Come on guys think! With great responsibility comes great power, use it properly to encourgae further decentralisation of EOS and reward those BPs who need some help, so together we can all help the world to look a bit different a few years from now. The objective when voting shold be to try and make the percentage of votes as equally distributed as possible across all of the Block Producers. This way the producers selected for each round could change frequently and the network would be come really decentralised and resilient.

Because ethereum can't handle it and it's expensive to do transactions. Also voting on eos should be done on the eos blockchain not a different blockchain. And some other reasons.

1. Did you register your ledger's ethereum address with an eos public key? (I guess not) 2. If you put your ethereum address in at eosauthority.com does it state an eos account name and public key? If 1, just use your eos private key to access your eos account. If not 1 but 2, you need to use the fallback system to generate your eos private key. You'll need to use a tool like https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ to generate your ledger's ethereum private key. Be cautious and security aware when you do this (move funds to a new address first and at least go offline to use the tool)

you probably can get your private key after mainnet is online... there are tools on github to convert the erc20 key but be careful to use a propper tool and to do it offline

I still do not get it. Is there a mainnet swap or not? I want to sell my coins and I do not understand the process at this point.

The mainnet is already launched but it's not activated and won't be until at least 15% of all EOS tokens are voting for a BP. All exchange wallets for EOS are locked too so you won't be able to do anything.

It works now and will continue to work afterwards. It's just a mechanism whereby you can generate your eos private key from your ethereum private key. Your genesis account is no different from others, it just needs your private key to access it.

Looks like you can't use fallback. Were there no outgoing transactions from your ethereum address before the snapshot? You'll have to wait to see if a mechanism is setup (such as through arbitration) for you to get eos tokens by proving control of your ethereum address.

I can't speak for block.one, but the regulatory landscape is a nightmare and people need to be very careful to avoid prison or huge fines. We need block.one around to put their $ to good use! At the moment everyone's tokens apart from the first 10 eos are automatically staked between CPU and network. They can be unstaked (which takes 3 days) when we reach the 15% voting threshold.
