i mean it really depends on what kind of dapp it is and how it works internally, lots of ways to go about it. you can always develop on test nets for free. and keep it mind RAM you have to buy for storage, that money is gone. but CPU and Net bandwidth you only stake temporarily for, then you get it all back.

I think they are working on a mobile mobile to use special secure elements in modern devices, but otherwise i dont think so. They are having a big hands off approach, which i think also is an approach to stay out of this legal wise, it's a fine dance to not be labelled a security by e.g. the SEC.

EOS is a utility coin. You have to "pay" for transactions hence usage should be proportional to your staked EOS.

you need a trustworthy eos native chain wallet, to put your private key in, right now I personally only trust Cleos... . I think it will take some more time till vetted, trustworthy eos wallets are available. I have heared good things about scatter, but don't take that as a recommendation.
