if you are staking for an app then you can vote. if you use a leasing dapp like chintai to give someone else the tokens then no, you temporarily lost control over them.

Cool. So it would seem token distribution may balance itself as these whale addresses begin leasing their eos? My suspicion was that somehow b.1 had control of these wallets and were holding them to rerelease in the market, as well as, for leasing to devs, but who knows. Im kinda sour on the distribution if anyone has any input on why current distribution isnt as bad as it seems.

Think about this scenario. Satoshi himself comes out of hiding. He takes btc code and develops it into the perfect, completely decentralized, infinitely scalable currency It is so good that the USA decides to replace the USD with bitcoin. Trump is pretty mad at this point so goes to satoshi and tells him to fix the worst trade deal in American history. Unfortunately, Satoshi has made it so decentralized that even he can't help... The USA goes back to the stone ages, Russia takes over the world.. This is why EOS is so important and stuff like BTC cannot succeed.

its frozen on the blockchain. on a single address that e.g. binance controls. then they have a private database where they say which user owns how much of each token in that address. and then they just update those private database numbers internally.

it would be good for you to spend some time learning how blockchains work. as long as you have your keys the air drops are just values in the ledger that your keys will unlock. as far as exodus, they will most likely have mainnet support within a week or 2

The countdown was for when the tokens froze and the snapshot took place. The couple of days the BPs were validating the snapshot and making sure the balances and such matched up. They've confirmed that they have agreed on the snapshop being valid and are now in the testing phase. Once they get passed testing they will launch the chain and voting will start. For users who didn't register on time, Bps have confirmed that they will be working on a backup plan for people who didn't register on time. They have moved those funds to one wallet and once the backup becomes avaliable they'll be able to honour those users accounts. In the meantime, just wait and be patient. Don't do anything drastic like give out your privet keys. Wait for the tools to become avaliable and wait on sources you trust to say that it's safe to do so. Best of luck.

Trading is not actually movimg coins or tokens around. You have to think of exchanges like ledgers. The exchanges are holding your tokens and your trades are just numbers going into the ledger, but tokens aren't actually moving.

Exchanges use placeholders for your balance and your balance dosen't go onto the blockchain until you withdraw your funds. This allows trading to continue and why exchanges have suspended withdraws until the token swap.

Yes, that is correct. You have missed some airdrops but you'll be able to get future ones moving forward as long as you move your EOS to a wallet that you control the keys for. Some exchanges might still honour some of the airdrops but it's best practice to have your tokens in a wallet you control. Best of luck.

EOS coins don't exist atm. The ERC-20 EOS tokens from the ICO are frozen. The EOS tokens being traded on exchanges are actually just database figures, not actually anything until a chain is live and the exchanges associate transactions settled on the mainnet.

The EOS keys you got from registering your wallet address is for when a EOS wallet becomes avaliable. Scatter seems to be a favourite wallet for now but I would wait until the dust settles and their is confirmation from a few trusted sources before using any wallets.

No, but if you have an Ethereum pvt key and an EOS pvt key, you can sign a transaction later and claim all your EOS, but it may take some time for that to happen, as an ETH lite client has to become available. You might be swept into the fallback registration; however, if you've previously performed an EOS transaction from that ETH wallet.

Yes, you won't be able to withdraw until after the swap. Exchanges use a placeholder for your balance and your balance does'nt go onto the blockchain until you withdraw. This allows exchanges to continue trading and why they have suspended withdraws until the swap.

Registration is now closed but you'll still be able to buy EOS on exchanges who support the swap. As for airdrops, some exchanges might honour the airdrops but it has been common for them not to. It's been best practice to hold your tokens on wallets that you have full control over your keys.

Bps have confirmed that they will be working on a backup plan for people who didn't register on time. They have moved those funds to one wallet and once the backup becomes avaliable they'll be able to honour those users accounts. In the meantime, just wait and be patient. Don't do anything drastic like give out your privet keys. Wait for the tools to become avaliable and wait on sources you trust to say that it's safe to do so. Best of luck.

Block producer candidates have moved the funds that haven't been registered to one wallet and once the backup becomes avaliable they'll be able to honour those users accounts. In the meantime, just wait and be patient. Don't do anything drastic like give out your privet keys. Wait for the tools to become avaliable and wait on sources you trust to say that it's safe to do so. Best of luck.

The tokens have been frozen so that is correct. Exchanges use a placeholder for your balance and your balance doesn't go onto the blockchain until you withdraw. This allows them to continue trading and why they have suspended withdraws and deposits until the swap.

They will have two more rounds of airdrops - scale and community airdrops, to EOS holders on Genesis snapshot. i recall there's a reason they said why they do that, i didn't reading the whole explanation, but something to do with more fair and even distribution on first drop - everyone get ~12K regardless of your eos count.
