Your best bet is to sit tight and wait till it is clear which wallet is the safest to use to before you try and access your eos if you are not very technical savvy..there is no rush currently to do anything until it is very clear from multiple sources which wallets are safe and easy to use for non techie people..you will get all the airdrops that come while you are sitting tight..this might mean waiting 2-4 weeks just to be safe.. that is what I am doing

Just so you know, not everyone in the space is a computer geek. EOS was supposed to be user-friendly for people like myself. Still, after a year and billions of dollars there's not an easy-to-use wallet or an easy way to even access your account. I'm not being a fudder. I'm all in on this project. I'm just a community member. I don't know precisely sandwich's role (or roll😂) but he did the snapshot script and worked on the fallback mechanism and built various other tools. Probably a lot more than I know.

At some point in the very near future, I may need to access some of my funds the near future and I'm very afraid of getting near any of these wallets.i haven't done one thing since the launch - except but more EOS, which is sitting on binance. I just want easy and safe access to my funds on the blockchain.

It is if you use eos' safety features such as time-delayed transfers, recovery from hacked account with named recovery partner, fine-grained control over permission weightings. Even just staking your tokens can give you protection because it takes three days to unstake.

it's so you won't go in and out without thought, staked coins are available to be rented for ram and stuff and more available means lower prices so in theory you let it go instant and whales can stake and unstake repeatedly to shake ram prices and make people pay more or have themselves pay less, no one wants that... Also to prevent nonsense last second voting daily on bps to manipulate a bp onto first place end of day before payment and then unstake and do something else

It's complicated to explain in adequate depth and my time is short. Things to consider... Incentives/ vote quality. If CPU or net are delegated to another entity it stops you withdrawing it from them immediately.

You should short x1.4 against btc to protect your eos for now until we can move to exchanges, that way eos up cancels most of the short loss on btc, eos down is cancelled by short's profits, it's the best way currently but obviously holds additional risks.

You could find someone who wants to buy your eos. Then you can ask them to generate a key pair and give you the public key. Then you can create an account with that public key and give them the eos in a staked state. I think that's doable. You might have to find an escrow though.

The mining pools can behave badly. The block producers can't get away with doing so.

I think most people have the Idea EOS was decentralized, but most voted for the top 21 Nodes and most never understood we can take them off that is one aspect of EOS voting democracy with centralized system

If we vote once a week then we need to stake our eos again and it will take 3 days again to unstake it. So by the time it unstake we only have a few days to stake it again. Then our eos will become unavailable most of the time. We are not all hodlers. We also trade.

Hey! When transferring EOS from an account A to account B, Is it possible to use the stake from an account C, or does A need to have staked tokens for that? If the latter is true, then accounts will never be able to be completely empty, is that right? In ethereum, for example, the gas goes to the miner (doesn’t get wasted) and you can more or less calculate the residue that will be left in the account. On EOS it seems like the whole staked amount needed for the transaction will be actually lost (locked in the stake)

You can delegate your voting power to another while keeping your staked tokens. You can do your research, choose a proxy who's approach you like, and they can vote on your behalf. They can do all subsequent research on who best to vote for and you can just keep an eye on them to the degree you deem necessary. I think there will be some good options.
