The way it has been described is that you can set up your account so that if you don’t send a transaction every X days or X months, someone you trust can use a secondary key you gave them to help you recover your account. This could also be used as a secure way to transfer wealth via inheritance.

Not anyone who just has the proper equipment, let's say, would get my vote without demonstrating the knowledge to handle any situation that were to come up. WOW.I am amazed of this total mess. EOS official site has no info/guides regarding any of this mainnet development/activity/progress what so ever !!! And it looks like they do not even planing to inform the contributors of this ICO as of what is going on with people's tokens (what are the next steps for those having the tokens frozen on ethereum,those who used exchanges or hardware wallets) . You guys in EOS raised 2Billion of dollars and have no available resources to hire a single person who can update the community ,write documents/guides/explanations as of WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERE AND HOW WE SUPPOSE TO DIGEST ALL THIS ONGOING MESS!!!? Instead of one entity we now have 20 + different entities (BP's) whilst each of them claims to be the top notch super duper BP, with its own tools .On top of that we have dozens others who are flooding the internet with other fake/scam/unsafe platforms. And I suppose to guess how to create the account,where,when and to wonder why I need to provide my private key to vote to those scammers. I am asking you EOS developers - What the heck is that,what about the usability,friendly interface, do you really think that all people are at least with Bsc in Computes Science ?? Are you developing a next generation product or next generation maze so no one can understand how to use it ? EXPLAIN THIS ALREADY !!!!

you can use any eos compatible key generator software from a dev you trust. i personally use Scatter to generate all my keypairs nowadays.

No, not true. This statement comes with the assumption that Ethereum and EOS can process the exact same amount of transactions per second, which is false; EOS can handle much more. All the author did here was take the 15% usage of the Ethereum network, and assume that it would take an exact same 15% usage of the EOS network, then assumed one would need 15% of the EOS tokens to run the app, and finally calculated 15% of EOS market cap to be $1.5B. Lots of assumptions paired with no statistics of how EOS works, outs this as a lie. Plus the disclaimer about how "it's just impossible" to build on EOS is noting more than silly nonsense.

if you have an eos account name that you can find by looking for your eos public key on eosflare.io for example then you should be good. you could try any wallet software to use any of the features, but you could also just wait

doesnt matter which wallet you use you still get the airdrops, they just might not show up in that wallet yet until they start supporting it

Have you made any outgoing transactions from the Ethereum address that holds your EOS? It doesn't have to be ETH, it can be another token from that address?

Then you should be able to access your EOS from an EOS wallet with those keys. I recommend EOS Voter by greymass as a wallet. You can also use eosflare.io with your EOS public key if you just want to view your account.

Many BPs have recommended EOS Voter by greymass as a wallet. You'll be able to unstake your EOS from there. All accounts had all their balances, except 10, staked for voting when we first launched. In order to use and transfer your EOS you will need to unstake them first. Unstaking takes 3 days and then you'll be able to use them.

you stake eos for cpu/net. that you can always get back. you buy ram, that eos is gone. but eventually you can sell your ram on the automated ram market again.

The EOS in metamask is the EOS ERC20 token that was only used for the snapshot to verify how much EOS you have. The ERC20 tokens are now frozen forever and worthless. You can access your EOS from an EOS wallet with EOS keys that you got from registering.

I'm unstaking to move my tokens to a new address. I've created a few new accounts, but most of them are under the same keys. I want to give them each new keys so that I can give away some of these accounts. Does anyone know a tool for changing the keys of a 12 character address?

I think airdrop model is a little overhyped.. no every ICO is going to have money dumped onto it. I dare say anything that is created via airdrop with no finanical backing will most likely die off.

Everipedia, for example, funded by B1 VC (according to airdropsforeos), there should be more in futurr

[Suggestion] We should be worried about geographical centralization, especially in countries ruled by am emperor or dictator. Also exchanges voting for themselves is a big concern, need to have their addresses identified and banned; while allowing the community to vote to implement a minimum independent voters condition (say ~500) in the code, before a BP is counted as active, and have a sensible maximum voting power valid per address (any voting power above that limit will rapidly diminish via a log or power behaviour).

I don't invest in ICO's.. These days anyone who has a great idea simply gets private investment and backing before they go public. It guarentee's them the funds they need to get the product up and running.
