@ximply seems a little unfair to call people lazy for not voting. You have to remember many will be new to blockchain. Many may still be deciding who to vote for and others like me, may not be technical and wary of sharing private keys. Cleo the official voting mechanism is a little scary if you know nothing about command lines. Perhaps EOSDach token should have been used for voting. Afterall it is a community token and therefore sharing private keys for that would have been easier whilst carrying less risk! Just a thought.

There's none. That's why I was asking about the math that led to your opinion. The actual math is 5.6% of votes needed in 2 days is an accelerating rate > 1%/day. Votes could actually dramatically slow down and still complete far before a year. We're looking at only a few more days right now.

I can simplify things for you... Eos was on the ethereum network for the last year. Now we're launching eos network, and swapping erc20 to native eos tokens 1:1 onto the new eos network which is now live and busting blocks. So now you have your coins on the eos network and your old erc20 tokens will be frozen forever in the eth network.

There are NO online tools that I'm aware of that anyone has promoted. You used local tools that authorize your vote to the main-net. Scatter and Greymass have a plugin and desktop app respectfully. Your tokens represent physical bandwidth and RAM. If you lock it away and don't use it, there is a cost to the network in assets, electricity, and obsolescence. Leasing it out will enable its use while you still own it while it appreciates. If you forget about it for 3 years, it will be redistributed to the community because dead space on the network is detrimental to the network. Its not like bitcoin. It has use to the chain, as well as a market-driven value.

When you but on a centralised exchange it's just an IOU until you withdraw. When you withdraw it'll be real eos. Real unstaked eos can't be transferred yet. But because centralised exchanges deal in IOUs until withdrawal time, they are able to allow trading of these things.

I voted (thanks to help from EOS NY's instructions and EOSCanada's mainnet address and my nerd skills with cleos), but I do not even know how how voting really works. I saw on graymass you can vote up to 30 BPCs?? Is that true? And when you vote, do you vote with your entire account, or do you split your account evenly throughout all the BPCs you vote for, and do you have to make sure you stake all your available tokens? I can short EOS tokens so if EOS tanks because nobody can figure this out, I can still profit, but this kind of info would be nice to have in one place. I was most impressed by EOSNewYork's instructions but those are incomplete with regards to hooking up to a mainnet. For a moment I was worried if I hooked into the wrong mainnet my private keys would be lost, but then my intermediate knowledge of crypto and cleos reminded me that it probably doesn't work like that. Anyway — if the goal is high voter turnout I think there is more that could be done by the BPCs, ASAP. I hear graymass is nice but I also heard they are not officially endorsed or audited so I am too afraid to go there.

I have heard the only voting tool that is officially approved (by block one?) is cleos. You have to give it your private key on your local machine, and it sends info to the mainnet that is signed, but it doesn't give your private key out over the internet. — that's my understanding anyway.
