I second this, although Scatter will allow you to have multiple wallets if you happen to have more than one ETH wallet with tokens in them.

It doesnt matter, as long as you use your tokens to vote, they are counted the same,..... an example I have 1k tokens, then I have added 1k to the vote total, regardless if I vote for one person, 30 people or 15

I agree with post from reddit, there should be a 3rd permission for eos accounts for just voting. active permission right now is both voting and transfers. a non transfer enabled permission for just voting (or delegating votes to proxy) would enable to use cold storage while still participating in governance

I don't think that's necessarily correct.

Arbitration could rule a percentage be returned, based on impropper handling by the original owner, but the constitution recognizes ownership, not by possession, but by legal ownership. If you have a cel phone on the table and someone picks it up, the possessor does not then own the cel phone.. the owner remains the original owner unless the possessor can prove there was a legal transaction to transfer ownership. That is how EOS arbitration works.

The attitude of many communities (I'm looking at you, BTS) has prevented mass adoption because people who are experienced make judgements on what is "good enough" for user interfaces, etc. It will be the dapps that make the user experience the most natural, simple, AND easy that will win out and thrive in the future. EOS is an operating system. Most will NEVER understand how it works... they bought in because of DAN, or because of Life, Liberty, and Property. They may never use it, and just fund it because of its beliefs. We NEED them to vote. I don't care if I have to do it for them if it means we get to 15% and move on. What I DON'T want is the Whales holding the rest of the chain hostage. If we get to 15% WITHOUT them, that is HUGE.

I think we need diversity in our BPs. BPs that are creating inspiring projects or building a community are as valuable to EOS as bombproof servers and geographic diversity. IMO. I agree, long term. With the backup nodes and other metal nodes, however, I don't see it as a clear and present danger. More likely it is a way to ensure full functionality from the start, and will always be a fall back (barring SEC intervention) when hardware fails or is hacked as security holes are discovered. I personally don't think metal is the number one thing now. Later? maybe.

ah, if I were a BPC i could see this as a viable approach, however I agree once the mainnet is robust and serving dapps I will only look at BPC's with redundant producer owned data centers

csxcommunity is my underdog vote right now. I grew up in a farming community in Canada. Farms operate as businesses but have almost no staff. I think blockchain solutions could simplify the business side of farming and make farmers more independent. Adoption might be tricky but I still want to see what comes from it.

I'm a really big fan of hybrid setups. That way you're covered either way. Cloud has issues no prob have baremetal too. Server issues, no big deal switch to cloud and work on servers, no downtime

Systems have a strong tendency to be more resilient when there is variety. Homogenisation can lead to pandemic problems. Only last year a whole load of Amazon servers were accidentally shut down when one member of staff typed an incorrect command.

There's none. That's why I was asking about the math that led to your opinion. The actual math is 5.6% of votes needed in 2 days is an accelerating rate > 1%/day. Votes could actually dramatically slow down and still complete far before a year. We're looking at only a few more days right now.

Seems you need to have a certain amount of EOS on your account to get the airdrop. For MEET.ONE you need to have EOS 69 or more at the snapshot

If they registered through the Exodus application I think there’s a way to export the eos private key. Developer > Assets > EOS > Export Private Keys. Once they have the private key, they are in the same boat as everybody else.

coudl be mitigated by the systems engineer using mutliple avaliability zones and redundant HA systems - much easier to achieve in the cloud than self hosted.

Good. Variety and redundancy are good. I'm not suggesting that nobody should use Amazon servers, but I'd be uncomfortable if every producer were to. I like the redundancy offered by eos' system of standby block producers too.

Put your address in at eosauthority.com. If you've an eos public key and account name you can use the fallback method of generating an eos private key from your ethereum private key. Then you can access your eos account.

Put your ethereum address in at eosauthority.com. If you have an eos account name you can get your tokens by using the fallback. You'll need your ethereum private key to generate your eos private key to access your account.
