So far, according to my understanding, the mainnet code shut itself down as it was designed to do which gave the opportunity to coders to fix the minor coding issue, then 20 thiefs were caught, and 27 more potential thieves were dissalowed from from stealing property. i fail to see any one of those issues as a problem.

I could not agree more. People are so ignorant of the doors that are opened by having a governed blockchain with a defined constitution. Scammers and criminals need to know that if they steal coins, those coins will be frozen and returned to its rightful owners. Businesses need to be sure that they can invest in EOS and be protected by a governance system. EOS is what I have been waiting for since I have been in the crypto space. I am so honoured to be a part of this forward thinking project.

Look, I wrote the script that created the decentralized snapshot. I’ve investigated nearly 100 different cases in order to create the most fair and accurate snapshot possible. I was aware of this scam, but there was nothing that could be done at that moment to handle it in an objective way. Arbitration post-freeze was the only option. If you map those account names to their ethereum addresses, you will see a common transaction among all of them to a contract that is used as a proof.

To be honest with you, EOS will grow whether people like you like it or not. This is a carefully thought out project and has stimulated a lot of interest because it is the only project that is properly governed at the moment. I think the ECAF team has been transparent enough; if you think this is not a project for you, sell your coins mate. What they are doing is a procedure that is carried out in every successful business; they are simply investigating further and updates will be provided when they are ready.

Absolutely. What actually amazes me is that what has happened is what you would expect whenever there is a report of a scam, hack or phishing operation. There needs to be a freeze of the product delivery until an investigation is carried out. EOS is actually proving that unlike most other blockchains, it can run itself like any other real life business. If there is any hidden agenda, we will ultimately find out and actions will be taken via voting to rectify it.

Ah, you are worried about poor communication leading to FUD. You have a point that communication should have been clearer but there will always be FUD about EOS mate. A lot of traditional Bitcoin and Ethereum maximalists hate DPOS and hate governed blockchains so EOS will always be a FUD target. What really matters is that the project cracks on with providing tangible value to prospective businesses and once it is successful, the FUD will die away. In future, just like with any other real life business, we will have avenues to give feedback about the governance system so that improvements can be made. I hope this helps and I am happy that you agree that this was the right thing to do.

A little stressed out - had some great help today locating my public EOS address - but it was supposed to be superceded by the MEW public and private key generator - i had a succesful generation but the simplEOS wallet only recognises my original public key which has no matching private key. The new succesful key generation provided a public and private key - but alas it does not work. I have plenty of screen shots on MEW and EOS plus the exact balance to prove my legitimate claim. What is the process from here?

Ok, so EOS is a feeless smart platform. It achieves feeless transactions by means of staking tokiens to reserve CPU (processing) and bandwidth (tps) … RAM is bought and sold and is used as storage/state persistence. It features TPS far greater than competiting platforms

That’s a matter of perspective. Ethereum for the most part is an ICO platform that has facilitated billiions of dollars in scams, but that doesn’t mean that it’s capped to that potential. It’s part of the growing process. Same applies to EOSIO.

Bad things happened in ethereum yes.. which is why Bitcoin has continued it dominance in comparison.. people have more trust in sending/recieving/holding bitcoin than they do in ethereum... and its value/growth has shown it.. the entire value proposition of ANY blockchain is converting/transfering trust to code... holding a subjective thing in a coded formula of sorts is never easy and is still being refined.. EOS is a great step forward in that process

EOS on Metamask are Ethereum ERC20 tokens. Those were only used for the snapshot to verify how many EOS you had. Those tokens are now frozen forever. What's funny is all blockchains are governed, ours is just organized and defined and out in the public for criticism. Look at how centralized the mining pools are on btc and eth. Bitcoin has been riddled with bugs since day one, there’s a tweet thread that outlines all the mistakes satoshi made, but these mistakes didn’t translate to FUD because it had the benefit of being under the radar. No chain can emulate benefits that Bitcoin had, because of this, Bitcoin never had to face the challenges of any (immature) technologies that have arisen from its wake.

But with all this knowledge of looking at bitcoins teething problems and what was done wrong wouldn't u think the eos team could have learnt from bitcoins mistakes a little better considering all this confusion that's been going on in eos?

I agree. But for those that won't, and i'm sure they'll be many, that's going to be a hard pill to swollow. I mean, there was one account holder who didn't even register 500k of eos before the mainnet :)

Anyone who actually uses dapps will have no issues
