all holders need to have an equal say in eos, the voting system needs to put everyone on the same footing, one solution would be have eos holders who are interested in voting register their digital finger print on the chain tied to their account to ensure a one to one relationship where everyone can have an equal say, while protecting privacy and guarding against corruption

I'm saying if the exchanges terms of service states they have the legal right to use your coins for voting purposes and you leave them on their exchange, it's your problem when bitfinex actually uses them to vote themselves in.

Guys, help please, I'm not able to wrap my head around this... 1) eos-bp-votes.dapptools.info says "voter engagement is 17.1%" .. this means 17.1% of the coins which are staked have active votes ?? 2) eospark.com has a 27% voting progress... What does this mean ? 3) eosflare.io shows 75.71% coins as staked but 17.04 % as votes... Overall, can someone please tell me how to make sense of these numbers ? Currently I'm believing 75% of all coins are staked and 17% of that = 12.75% are actively voting... Am I correct ??

Fascinating question. I suppose the answer is that the rest of the BP's who follow their order, assuming it gets consensus, will act on it, and can thus kick out a BP. But they cannot do that without voter consensus. If the BP agrees to the constitution / arbiter, and they refuse an order, they are technically byzantine.

Question: I heard that it was better to remove my eos from Binance because i would not get airdrops or not all the airdrops if they were not in a wallet. So before the deadline I've sent my eos to Jaxx as their was a guide explaining how to register my eos using MyEtherWallet siging a smart contract there, with my eos being in Jaxx wallet. Anyhow, i dont know much about all this but then I heard that eos airdrops are not accepted in Jaxx! And i dont see any airdrops in my wallet eventhough there was supposed to be plenty in June. Someone can give me some info on this situation?

It's been reported that the new Welcome page is interrupting loading of previously encrypted keyfiles. We should have a patch soon to get around this. There is no cause for concern and no security issues: if you don't want to wait for the patch, it is completely safe to re-recreate your wallet, and it will simply replace the old one.

You can install the same wallet on an airgapped (not connected to the internet) computer, but set this one up as a 'Cold Wallet'. This wallet can sign transactions. Move the transactions via USB stick — generate on the watch, sign on the cold, and then broadcast on the watch. 100% secure.

Sure, kind of defeats the purpose though, might as well just use cleos for it all. 😄 In our tool you just click 'broadcast signed transaction' and select the signed TX, and off it goes.

Sirer thinks EOS will act blindly and automatic in this kind of case. The opposite it's true. We have humans making decisions, so they can look the case at every angle and think what's best solution for each case. And of course all exchanges benefit from this system because it will be very hard for hackers to sell stolen tokens in EOS blockchain. If an exchange is hacked, it has much better chance of getting their tokens back than in any other blockchain.

Creator of that site here. You only give public keys to the site. Site creates account for you. You own the private keys. So should be safe to use. You can generate keys with an offline key generator.

every time you create an account you consume some space in global ram for storing state & storing ownership of your alias. it costs nothing to create as many public/private key pairs as you want, it's the state use that's not free b/c it's finite resource

You use with scatter. There's a backup function where u can create a backup file n store it safely.

If you lost your private key n u have it public address n private key stored in scatter, you can use eostoolkit.io+scatter to change new public address n private. I got my account recovered just now.
